same. my favorite part of every new save is making a "jack of all trades" character that plays every weapon equally. it helps me gain so much playtime, experience, and value out of the game as i try to craft *every* weapon in every class. it's fun to see how much i grow as a hunter and appreciate so many forgotten (and missed) details about the game world and the interactions

Agreed, when I start new save file in mhf2 and mhp3rd It's just like playing the story of a newbie hunter tasked with mundane stuff like gathering before being trusted with more dangerous missions. Of course you don't need an overly good weapon or lots of money for beginner missions, so that early game difficulty makes sense

I remember the first wall I encountered in this game: Yian Kut-Ku. Yes: it was the first flying monster and I was not prepared for that (I recall thinking: "It flies?! And now!?"), no idea how to consistently hit it with dualblades. Ahhhh... so much time has passed since then, and many hunts with most ferocious monsters... Still, Kut-Ku has a place in my heart

In the beginning the sns is a nice start. The upgrades are cheap, it doesn't need much materials and the sharpness is ok. I start with it every time and when i have enough Materials and a good amount of money, i switch to lance or gs

Sell everything. Use SnS. No upgrades. Get iron katana, Giadrome+velocidrome armor , farm Cenataur armor. Always works lol.

I use giadrome and velocidrome too, but i farm both diablos sets instead. The black set lowers the lose of the sharpness (good for weapons, that have bad sharpness) + high wind pressure defense and the regular gives 20% affinity + small wind pressure defense. 👌

i made to g rank the first time as kid without knowing you need to combine numbers to acquire skills sadly my psp breaks so memory all resetted progress gone when i just finished urgent two hypnoc g rank...traumatized for a months because all the hard work pick up the game again finally knows how to search google for information...breeze till g rank but man i wished i explored it authentically back then...i think i will get twice as excited but psp gotta spoil me somehow smh...the feelings when i reach g rank as kid make me tears xD struggle on plesioth then braggin on my sister who not even playing this game hahaha..memories

Don't worry, with the popularity of Monster May Cry: Sunbreak's Inferno, we will never have to worry about things like gathering, resource or inventory management, thinking and preparation! Or heavens forbid, having to find or track a monster... Just sit back and enjoy countering everything a monster throws at you, while the game makes sure you never run out of items or upgrade materials! :)

Best advice for early game: • Get a Bowgun (light or heavy) and only use Normal Lvl. 1 shots. • DON'T upgrade the bowguns, just keep buying new cheap ones if you see them at the blacksmith shop. • DON'T buy armor, just learn to dodge and keep your distance. • DON'T buy potions. If you don't get hit, you can save the cash for something else. The freebies you get should suffice. • Upgrade your farm ASAP and remember to gather resources every time you return to the village. Do this until you unlock 4* quests. (Look up the mandatory quests on the wiki. Ignore the rest.) By that point you should have enough money and resources to craft a strong Greatsword or Longsword, which I'd argue are the strongest weapons for the mid-game, as well as some decent armor. From there, you can fight and craft whatever you want.

"don't buy potions" until 4* is terrible advice. Potions are very inexpensive and going to village quests without them will make your life miserable since you only get like 3 first aids per quest.

WTF do you mean by don't upgrade bowguns?, only use normal one shots? that's probably the most horrible advice you can give to a beginner. normal 2 and fully upgraded bowgun will be more than 10 times stronger than normal 1 shots with not upgraded bowgun. You'll save so much time and pains just by buying 99 shots of normal 2s for just 299. And the money for upgrading the bowgun can be earned super easily.

I think the riding thing is cool and an improvement, but I also feel they definitely dropped the ball. I really enjoyed just going out and gathering every so often it was peaceful compared to just grinding monsters out.

Nah it ain't that painful. I find the start of this game to be quite peaceful and rewarding, it's an enjoyable start to one of the most iconic games in the series
