The Pan America, competition for BMW GS, Multistrada V4S, 1290 Super Adventure, or not ? you decide

So is Harley Davidson's first go at an adventure bike a series competitor for the big names like - BMW's GS, Ducati's Multrstrada V4s and KTM's 1290 Super Adventure ..... here's a real world (road), ride, see what you think ?

I think Harley Davidson is turning the corner on high technology and performance engines and motorcycles which is long overdue. with the new Revolution Max engine now in three model now it’s just a matter of time the format moves over to the touring models in a more beefy version. The M8 engine is still 1950’/1960’s technology with a slightly new twist but that’s it, other than that it’s still a hot air cooled engine with a big primary chain, push rods, lifters and three hole oil fill and drain which is outdated x 10..

It’s a beautiful bike for sure and I love it. If it was reliable and dependable I would absolutely get one. But I just don’t trust it yet. I have seen some folks who’ve had terrible, terrible, experiences with their Pan America’s. One even traded his for a GS after about 5k miles. I want it to succeed but I have no confidence in Harley to develop and deliver something modern and technically advanced.
