The macro photography and the way that you rotate the watch as you shoot different angles is seriously world-class. You're the absolute best channel on KZbin for this type of content. Just outstanding, and I hope you're doing well in this crazy time.

I have a large watch collection and just adore my Panerai watches. You either get what Panerai watches are all about, or you don’t. My Pam 661 Carbotech gets worn than all my watches. The most legible dials in the industry. It’s just a cool watch that is tough as nails without showing any scratches. It gets more attention and asked about more than any of my Rolex models. The cool factor is off the charts and doesn’t look like it’s trying to show off. That’s rare in a watch. Like a LaFerrari on the wrist.

@PeteNice292 жыл бұрын
The size is deceptive, and unfortunately you see too many wrist shots on arms that make the watches look silly huge. But they make everything from 38mm on up, so as with everything we wear fit and proportion is key.

BTW: If you buy a luxury watch like you're supposed to at this level then you won't get a replica. Go to an AD or to the Panerai shop itself and buy one with these things known as BOX AND PAPERS! Good watches. They tend to use modified valjoux 7750s which are a great movement. If somewhat common. But their finishing is very good. Especially the dials.
@simona43154 жыл бұрын
I love your channel. I ask a simple question if you can summon the courage to answer. At one time luxury was synonymous with quality so the extra price made sense. Now the quality isn't extraordinary, most have components that are cheaply available and can be made a low cost. There's no speciality required to manufacture these parts as was once necessary. So the only reason to pay the price is the heritage and brand. This feels like a rip off because there's nothing, very little perhaps, intrinsic to the product. Wouldn't you agree?
@FixItAgainToni4 жыл бұрын
This is why I go vintage all the time, I just feel the same like you. I'm in a midrange position financially - why should I spend bucks for a Tissot Visodate or a Junghans Max Bill if I can get vintage models of this type that look better (have smaller case size like I like it) for less than half the price?
@MrSaadmubarak4 жыл бұрын
Why? The short answer is modern watches are more accurate and reliable. I respect vintage and modern, just giving you the answer to your question.

Panerai has been making their own in-house movements for awhile now. Their new 9010 is outstanding and it’ will stand up against any other in-house movement for its snob appeal and robustness. I am a movement snob and I put the Panerai in-house p.9010 movement through it’s tests and it outperforms other in-house movements with a much stronger amplitude in any position. Power reserve from its dual barrel main spring tested to 80 hours! +1 second a day in most resting positions. Ceramic rotor bearings, etc.. The in-house p.9010 is a seriously good movement.

Love all things Italian, but I struggle with Panerai. The cushion case is unusual on a diver. Love the sandwich dial, too. Just can't cope with that monstrosity of a crown guard. It lacks finesse and refinement and looks completely out of place on a watch, sorry.
@tikiecue56773 жыл бұрын
To each his own I guess... I never liked how gaudy it looks, and yet walk with one in the shop and majority or them still wont take them in for service unless you have the purchase receipt, even after years the warranty has ended. There is a saying that there's only 2 ways you get a product forged, 1. Be too recognized/well-known, and 2. Be too simple and generic especially with parts. Mid-2000s Panerai feels the latter... And the older models are too expensive for what they are as a brand...

One of the most iconic and beloved watches in the history of watch making...but all these simps think it's ugly (wow, so edgy). Reminds me of all the Grand Seiko bandwagon fukbois that hate on Rolex (despite the fact that they own neither a GS nor a Rolex). Even Watchfinder compares the Luminor to the Prosche 911... It's funny to me that in the watch community, what brands one likes doesn't define one nearly as what brands one hates...
