Tried this mob after you recommended them… I bought and paid for a new Omega Seamaster 600m. Told it was being dispatched, then it had been sold and it was a mistake on their system but when I asked why it was still for sale on their web site I was then advised that they couldn’t sell it to me due to Brexit! However if I’d let them hold the cash, they could order in another example in around 5 week! Interestingly it’s still showing as available almost a week later #very-confused 🤔
@patrickjean-philippe76792 жыл бұрын
Panerai were never made in Florence, cases and movements were ordered from Rolex so mostly it is Rolex who was manufacturing Panerai… The company has lied too many times throughout their communication and this is the reason these watches have lost their credibility and popularity even though their design is nice and unique. But with low prices on the second hand these become interesting…

I think a plain, 3-6-9-12 dial with no seconds hand and a hand wound movement is still the best way to go for a Panerai. Just so simple and the hand wound movement means you actually have to flip the crown lock every 3 to 8 days depending on the movement.

I consider myself among the Paneristi, having 4 models. I love the charm and uniqueness of Panerai and visited Firenze several years ago. I myself prefer the older hand-winding models, having a year 2000 PAM055, a 2002 PAM112, a 372, and finally an auto - the PAM1024. People liked to knock PAMs for the size, neglecting to consider the fact that the case size was required because of the pocket-watch movements inside. This and the crown guard became Panerai DNA and I would not have it any other way.

I recently bought a Luminor Pam0796 and absolutely love it. It oozes quality. It’s 44mm - which is the standard size for Panerai- but does not wear too big on my 7” wrist. The 0796 is a ‘destro’ Luminor for left handers so has the crown guard on the other side. Very few watchmakers cater for left handed people who prefer to wear their watch on the right wrist. The only other example I can think of is the Tudor Pelagos.

Panerista here. PAM351 was the 2nd “nice” watch I added years ago to the collection and still have it-It will likely never leave. Best thing about the luminor marina line is that you can buy a new strap and practically feel like you got a new watch. Easily changing straps is the best part of owning a Panerai. I’ve taken mine on lots of vacations, snorkeling, hiking, snowboarding, etc. rugged enough for daily use but change the strap and you can rock it with a nice suit too. I also love the sandwich dial- best looking lume on a dial by far and very legible. These watches are not about precision, hence the lack of minute hash marks. Instead they’re all about style, comfort, legibility and versatility. The older models like mine are also slightly more desired because they don’t have the stupid “automatic” text at 6 o’clock on the dial, ruining the symmetric look. Some prefer the slightly thicker case of the older models too. I’ve tried on the newer/slimmer versions and am glad I have the old case design. But to each their own.

Nice video Adrian. A point I think worth making with brands in the richemont group (more than SWATCH and LVMH I feel) is that the pressure seems to be off every brand to fill every segment - they seem quite happy for panerai to be a one trick pony as long as that trick is doing ok, likewise JLC, Cartier etc. It makes comparing brands within groups that are like role players in a team with independents (or flagships like Omega) a little tricky.
@kaseyj8284 Жыл бұрын
As a small private watch collector I mainly had Rolex and Omega. Had some people in my watch group mention Panerai and I always thought way too big, didn’t give much thought. Started really looking into the brand after years and was hell bent on getting a Luminor for the crown guard. Manual wind 8 days. Well, after going in and looking at all Models, going back to my AD 3 days in a row, I did a flip and fell in love and purchased the Panerai Radiomir PAM00572 micro rotor and “I LOVE IT” I enjoy wearing it, looking at it and dare say (my favourite watch even over my Rolex’s 😅) I am now looking at more Panerai and love the brand now. I am secretly hooked and I totally get it now. The Radiomir with the slim case, I’m house movement, off centre micro rotor and beautiful dial won me 100% and no matter what anyone tells me. I love it.

Did you try seven Friday watches?

They do not wear that huge though. I didn’t like Panerai until I tried one on and here I am now having two in my collection.

I have the PAM00098 Radiomir Panerai Alarm, a very unique and amazing watch that has indeed an alarm, it was released like 15 years ago and it’s a limited edition watch. I love it so much!! Thanks for the video Adrian!

Great review of Panerai. My PAM 111 sandwich dial is just sublime. 100% a Submersible piece is on the horizon.

Excellent Video… I just à Panerai PAM 914 i love everything about it, the case size, the dial, the crown guard, insanely a beautiful watch, never put back on my wrist a Rolex, Cartier or omega which I do own… love the Panerai brand totally different look ….

I always see Arnold wearing these in pictures and think, this guy gets it. Nothing too flashy, just a big legible watch. I’m a fan

Hi Adrian, I would love to see you doing a video with the Explorer and affordable alternatives, maybe including a Sinn 556I!

Are Panerai watches good? Short Answer: yes, Long answer, also yes.

If someone is thinking about getting a Panerai I think you will absolutely love it. Once it hits your wrist it makes you a believer. Nothing else on the market is like a Panerai

I would tread carefully around doing something that looks like a review of a product while simultaneously trying to sell it...really really really not a fan of this. Love the review, love that your getting sponsors...maybe structure the video slightly differently next time.

I have a pair of Panerai....a 392 and 233. I love the 233 which has a very large thick dome crystal, sandwich dial and 8 day power reserve. Far and away my favorite watch. It wears a bit smaller at 44 mm than my 42 mm 392 which although nice isn't as well balanced. Very well made watches that aren't for everyone given their size.

Isn’t Panerai claiming a new in-house movement in their new chronograph but it’s really an ETA movement?
@BarkandJack3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, unfortunately all of this had been recorded before that all came out. Panerai have a history of doing "funny" stuff.

I seem to recall a few years ago they slapped an unfinished lower end Unitas movement in a limited edition run of watches. Not a brand I’d be able to trust.

There are a lot of other brands I’d rather buy than panerai at this price point….tudor, omega, grand seiko, etc.
