Consider including micro/macro Photography category.

@@matrishvaIt has been done before but could have another go as far as I’m concerned. They have done Hi & Low Key images. Pretty sure they have done in motion or some type of interacting or doing their thing type already too!

Toby, I would love to win a free photo safari, but I’m not sure my photography skills are up to the challenge. I’ve followed your channel for some time, and the level of wildlife photography I’ve seen is magnificent. I subscribe to your channel, and I watch many of the instructional videos your staff puts together. It seems that successful wildlife photography in Africa benefits from the same mantra as that in real estate. It is all about location, location, location. Taking a winning photograph with the advantage of the African experience seems easier than shooting at my local zoo or drive-through safari. Thank you for a very informative video about the contest. Your personality comes across as very endearing. Larry from Texas

Thanks Larry…don’t forget the lucky draw component where you can win a safari just by entering!

For your 2025 competition, have a combined landscape/wildlife category, bringing these 2 categories together, in 1 image.

Perhaps a category showing interactions among conspecifics (e.g., parent and child, male and female, etc.). Someone else suggested interactions between two species (e.g., predator and prey), so this would be different.

What criteria do you use to distinguish between amateur and professional photographers?

When we talk about editing - should we stick to what most nature photo contests consider to be ineligible - ie removing items (branches leaves etc) cloning etc. Effectively you can do whatever one could do with film camera (Ansel Adams rule)
@PangolinWildlifeАй бұрын
Yes, stick to the "Ansel Adams rule"

@PangolinWildlife One question. Is editing on the photo allowed for submission or no editing is preferred? Please suggest

@PangolinWildlife - Should we watermark the picture with name or it should be plain image ?
@mitch1958no1Ай бұрын
@@FoodNTravelXP from the contest rules: The image must have been taken by the submitter. Your images must be submitted as jpeg files without a watermark. The platform that we use will place a standard watermark on your image to protect it and also allow for the image to be judged anonymously. The judging process is conducted blindly, so all watermarked images will be rejected.

What about a ‘Straight out of Camera’ category, which would showcase the photographers skill rather than his/her editing skills.

Do you have to have taken these images in Botswana or Namibia? Or anywhere in Africa? Secondly, can teenagers enter?

How about a video challenge?
@rishi_rambhatla4 ай бұрын
Hey, I noticed that the age limit for the challenge is set at 18 and above, and I completely understand the reasons for this policy. However, I am 15 years old and genuinely eager to participate. I believe that photography is about creativity and perspective rather than age. If possible, I would love to know if there’s any flexibility regarding the age limit or if there are ways for younger photographers like myself to get involved. Thank you for considering my request. I truly admire your work and the impact it has on wildlife conservation. Realy Looking Forward to the competition! Warm regards, Rishi Rambhatla

What about a true amateur competition for those who make NO money from their photography. Those who enjoy photography and do it for the pleasure. Search all last years winners and highly commended?
@PangolinWildlife4 ай бұрын
To be honest thats 99.9% of entrants and as far as i know 100% of previous winners. I dont want to penalise someone though that sold one image to someone to print.
@lloydsluman12914 ай бұрын
@@PangolinWildlife Not sure I agree with you. What about those who have sites selling photos? Think they might sell more that one image. PS I do love your site and enjoy the videos but I will not be sending any entries this year.
