you actually did derive the conservation of momentum in your video on the rocket equation.

oh shit, I already had a feeling that I must've derived it before, given the nature of my channel... Thanks for the reminder! But it doesn't hurt to have a separate video on it anyways :)

Lowkey I was hoping to see Noether theorem and translation invariance as a starting point, but F = am and actio = reactio is fine too :)

Nice to see you making videos again and you are now teaching physics 😱! That reminds me one of your collaborator some year ago who makes physics joke. The trick part of momentum transfer is when it is 2D, the algebra is annoying.

During REAL NATURAL COLLISIONS some of the collision energy is transferred to angular momentum of the distributed mass throughout the 2 or more particles themselves. So before the collision there is an both an INITIAL LINEAR AND ANGULAR MOMENTUM and after the collision there with be a FINAL LINEAR AND ANGULAR MOMENTUM... Please do this 'same' video again ASAP but include all transfers of linear AND angular momentum of the particles given it's Inertia Distribution and shape! First video can be for a sphere of given internia with large surface friction causing transfers of linear momentum into rotational momentum and Angular back to Linear depending on the particlular collision. In NATURE like a Billard Ball that Rotates before and after collision! THIS MOMENTUM MUST BE CONSERVED! Please include all momentum transfers to AND from angular momentum exchanges along with linear momentum changes. In Nature HALF the energy of ALL PARTICLES is internal momentum meaning angular momentum of the mass throught the particle! This subatomic particle inernal angular momentum and energy can be converted quickly when colliding Uranium. Much internal angular momentum is quickly converted into linear energy aka BOOM! E=mc^2. Peace Out... If you do the video I will let you into @FiringRoom1 for a once in a lifetime illumination... In FIRING ROOM 1 we are Launching Humanity into the Future! We are on KZbin @firingroom1

You can do even better, let's say we have n interacting particles. We can represent the force between the i and j particle with a matrix (of vectors) , f_{ij}, newton's third law just tells us that this little boy is antisymmetric. This implies that it has to be traceless (no particle exerts a force on itself) . In particular if one considers the sum of all forces, Sum of (f_{ij}) over its indices, this gives out a big fat zero because we're summing out a fucking antisymmetric quantity bruh. ( Calculating the sum on the f_{ij} corresponds to summing all the forces on a body from other bodies, and then, for all bodies, summing up said forces) Then given that dp/dt=0 it's QED baby.

Acceleration is zero except during the collision. You skipped quite a few steps in those integrals that contain some pretty nice math and physics.
