Another great Partridge song and performance. I am loving the way David and Shirley seem so into the song. Great one. No copyright Infringement is intended.

Generally, the problem with the Partridge's musical image (it's pretty well accepted that these were all studio musicians and singers, with only David and Shirley contributing to the records) is that Wes Farrell didn't even try to make it sound authentic. (Was the other male voice on "To Be Lovers" supposed to be Danny or Chris?) There's no way Keith would have written songs this mature. The Partridges were supposed to be a fictionalized version of the Cowsills, but put the records side by side: the Cowsills were hella talented but still sounded like the kids they were.

I LOVE that, too, and loved that they weren't afraid to show that on camera! VERY ahead of its time. It's only been very recently where we've FINALLY gotten to the point where women will cover songs to women w/o changing the pronouns! I even started a YT playlist of my faves. Irish & Celtic women singers consistently do this, so it may be common in that tradition. Clannad, Celtic Woman, & Megan Mullally have performed love songs about women.

While other teeny boppers were in love with Donny Osmond, I was in love with David Cassidy. I even started wearing my hair like his. LOL Mine was a little more feathered back at the top, as they called it back then. ❤ David was so underrated as a singer. He toured some but at one concert a girl got crushed by the crowd and killed. They/ he kept begging the crowd to get back, but they were too busy trying to get to David. I don't think he ever got over that. He was devastated by her death. He had such a big heart. ❤

I bought a little portable cassette recorder thru the Sears catalogue when I was a kid a half century ago and it came with a cassette inside to get me started listening. This song was on one of the sides and I had never heard it before or since until now. But I've always remembered the first 5 measures of lyric and melody. So I searched for "heartbeat' it and voila, here it is. Never saw this episode or music video either until now. The other song on the other side of the cassette (there was only one song on each side) was Aretha Franklin's "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman." Neither song did much for me at the time. I was used to the Beatles, a tough standard to live up to.

He was very talented, he could act he could sing and he was so Handsome. I don't know why he never made People Magazine's Sextist man alive

Wow the magazine came out the same year the show ended. No offense, but he was nearly old enough to be my dad, never had a crush on the late performer, but liked him on PF. If the feature had been back then, considering his popularity and looks, I can see him being picked.

I think this was one of their best songs. I love watching them play with those outfits. I'm a little surprised in a way David Cassidy was able to pull off singing so well. I saw him in 1969 on an episode of Adam 12 a year before all this. Much shorter hair and virtually an unknown.

I'm been watching the rerun's of the Partridge Family on Roku tv and loving it . He was more than a teen heartthrob. I'm enjoying watching him as Keith Partridge . I love his character . As I'm watching him as a adult now I realize just how talented he really was . Not only as a singer but he was very convincing as actor. I loved him when I was teenager and even more now that I'm a adult .
