Generally, the problem with the Partridge's musical image (it's pretty well accepted that these were all studio musicians and singers, with only David and Shirley contributing to the records) is that Wes Farrell didn't even try to make it sound authentic. (Was the other male voice on "To Be Lovers" supposed to be Danny or Chris?) There's no way Keith would have written songs this mature. The Partridges were supposed to be a fictionalized version of the Cowsills, but put the records side by side: the Cowsills were hella talented but still sounded like the kids they were.
@aunch34 жыл бұрын

Chris Jx Thank you for noticing. No deadline was involved. This song is credited to one of the Family's hired songwriters on the album, but it was actually written and composed by one of David's girlfriends along with some help from David Cassidy and polished in the studio after David brought it back to step-Mom Shirley who approved. Love, love, I can feel your heartbeat Love, love, can'tcha feel my heartbeat? Love, love, I can feel your heartbeat Love, love, can'tcha feel my heartbeat? This is my favorite Partridge Family song. Wonderful hard hitting, "heart pounding" music. I haven't seen this clip for a long time. Shirley Jones looks so beautiful, absolutely gorgeous. I also like the song, I Woke Up in Love This Morning and Roller Coaster very much as well. Many other good songs too.

I heard this on American Horror Story for the first time and immediately liked it and looked it up. Love this song! :) they don't make many good songs anymore. It seems more feeling, euthuesiam and meaning went into older songs.

I remember watching this episode when I was a kid and thinking "Dang, that's sexy."

I bought a little portable cassette recorder thru the Sears catalogue when I was a kid a half century ago and it came with a cassette inside to get me started listening. This song was on one of the sides and I had never heard it before or since until now. But I've always remembered the first 5 measures of lyric and melody. So I searched for "heartbeat' it and voila, here it is. Never saw this episode or music video either until now. The other song on the other side of the cassette (there was only one song on each side) was Aretha Franklin's "You Make Me Feel Like A Natural Woman." Neither song did much for me at the time. I was used to the Beatles, a tough standard to live up to.

I love this song! And I love how Shirley Jones is shown singing the lyrics "I'll treat you like a woman, love you like a woman..." Very ahead of its time. She rocks this song! Poor Jeremy Gelbwaks...he looks like he's in a trance.

I LOVE that, too, and loved that they weren't afraid to show that on camera! VERY ahead of its time. It's only been very recently where we've FINALLY gotten to the point where women will cover songs to women w/o changing the pronouns! I even started a YT playlist of my faves. Irish & Celtic women singers consistently do this, so it may be common in that tradition. Clannad, Celtic Woman, & Megan Mullally have performed love songs about women.

Sorry unless unless the subject is a lesbian , not changing the pronouns is weird. The same if it was a man. If the object of desire is hetero, that should be stated.
