Thanks fer posting this scene! I swear, when that toilet paper keeps on rolling on and on, it cracks me up more than anything!! And Peter Sellers just stares at it....The Party might not be exactly “P.C.” In 2020, but it was freakin’ hilarious back in 1968 (and still is today for me!)

No problem, actually I have to thank you because I believe we need more of that simple and beautiful, harmless humor in today's movies and you agree with that. That's great =)

I like the scene where he's messing with the command center buttons .. fire in fireplace nearly incinerating people, the statue peeing 15 feet, counters sliding in with drinks falling on the floor. And Sellers clucking like a chicken into a loud speaker. That house was so 60s, but very cool.

I watched this movie as a child with my parents. Back in the days when you rented video tapes. My siblings and I loved it so much, we would ask my parents over and over again if we could watch the movie with the Indian man in it 😂. My Mum had to explain several times that Peter Sellers wasn’t Indian. It is still one of my favourite comedies.

Fran Jeffries "Meglio Stasera" playing in the background and by the band, a tribute to the first Pink Panther! Love that song and crossover by Blake Edwards. Being an Indian myself, Peter Sellers can do honourary "brownface" anyday! One of the funniest movies in history

I’m an old guy and really dig Blake Edwards’ movies. When I was a young kid in the fifties I saw Gunga Din with Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Cary Grant, Sam Jaffe and Victor McLaughlin. I forced (yeah…forced) my family to watch Gunga Din one night before we watched “The Party” just so they would get the satire in the opening bugle scene. It kinda sucks because in movies, if you’ve never seen the original, you don’t get the joke.

Funny when Peter's chicken from his plate flies up & lands on the woman's head then the very drunk waiter Steve Franken goes to retrieve it only to remove her wig too. Also, if U look closely U can see the string attached to the chicken. Peter's expression during this scene is priceless. Also with the scene above with the toilet paper, just as well there wasn't a shortage then. Hehe

🔹️ This situation could happen to anyone, really ❗ But ONLY Peter Sellers had the comedic talent, ability & genius at that time to make this so memorable & hilarious. The only other actors I can think of at the time that could have pulled off such a feat would have been Jack Lemmon, Tony Randall or Don Adams, but Peter Sellers was, by far, at the top of his game during this golden age of comedy in the late 1960s ❗And Peter Sellers would have been the only actor who could have convincingly played the part of a bumbling, incompetent, struggling Indian actor ❗👀👍❕

A successful movie director with a gorgeous mansion near Hollywood comes to blows with a talented, but incredibly clumsy, Indian actor, who has just inadvertently blown up a set for the director's next epic release. Little does the director know that his former employee has just been put on the guest list for a huge party at his mansion! Look. Out! 🤣🤣
