These guys are my FAVORITE movie reviewers because they're so genuine and never pretentious. And there's always some hilarious comments that happen so naturally. They're prepared, but not scripted and they hit the right balance. My DREAM would be watching a movie with them🤩.

That Kurt Cobain sweater symbolized Benson’s angst and foreshadowed his suicide. I couldn’t get past it the whole movie. I kept saying to myself, “why would This guy be wearing That sweater?” Well, that’s why lol

if you guys wanna review a GREAT Kyle Gallner movie, you guys NEED to watch "Red State" starring Him, John Goodman, Kevin Pollack, And Melissa Leo. Its VERY DARK! VERY SCARY! But VERY FUNNY at times, as well... not sure if u would consider it a horror, but its real Tarantino-Ish, thats for sure 💯

Another great review. Although I'm surprised no one mentioned how low-key darkly funny this movie was 😂When Benson asked Randy in disbelief whether he took his teacher's eye out as a 7-year old while Randy was sitting there experiencing extreme emotional turmoil 😂And Benson acting like Randy's super messed up, and that such a crazy thing happened to a child, but that he would let it dictate his life... when he himself just killed a couple of people and is merely peeved at it (a facade, but still). I'd love to recommend everyone check out Dinner in America in which Kyle Gallner plays an oddly similar character and also goes on something of a roadtrip with an unwilling companion... except that was a romcom 😂

I thought this movie was quite good! Though we're not shown why Benson beat the everloving crap out of Mr. Shepherd, yeah I suspect the teacher bullied or abused Benson, as the triggering incident that kicked off this whole episode was bullying, and Benson didn't want to talk about it, probably because he was afraid of looking "weak." Benson also appears to have a hyper intense need to completely dominate everything and everyone. He appears to be threatened by any self-assertion shown to him, even when its warranted, and you wonder what powerlessness he must have felt that has created this obsessive need to dominate others. Even though he's a monster, I had sympathy for him by the end.

I like watching Kyle Gallner in a lot of things, he's in a ton of horror/psychological work from my teens and now late 20's. Glad to hear you guys liked this film I was thinking about watching it myself.

Ooh! You broke the piece(s) of 'situations' down so fittingly for this genre I think! The way that made it feel, like a ball of thread just, unravelling, or fraying at it's seams? Creepy guy 'journey' through another😅...liked the poll quotes too😊

I stopped watching your review immediately after you said liked it and watched it. I really liked it. It was suspenseful because Benson was unpredictable. Both Actors did great jobs. The jump scare got me good. The ending was solid. No twist needed.

Wonderful review gentlemen as always. Altho I did feel like this was a gay film, just in its subtleties. It feels like the internalised homophobia of alot of men from rural towns. Also Benson was totally falling for Bradley, but just in a predatory way. and Bradley finding his moment in the diner with that bisexual lighting was everything
@interloper2558
@interloper2558 Жыл бұрын
I too thought that the subtext was there and toxic masculinity fueled Benson's character. Seemed especially prominent and cut that way going by the trailer and other people's comments on it. Like, Benson projected his own insecurities onto Randy but at the same time was too protective, empathetic, and intimate for it to not be queer on some level. Not to mention possessive.
@cinemaghost3149

@@interloper2558 100% agree. This movie felt like the last day of an abusive relationship.just from Bradley's perspective, watching his partner explode on everyone for the last time

Wow what a surprise this was. I went into the movie completely blind knowing nothing of what the film was about, and I have to say it’s one of the best films I’ve seen in a while. An outstanding performance from all the cast, particularly Kyle Gallner who was captivating. What a breath of fresh air to see an original story, that appears to concentrate on storyline and characters rather than political virtue signalling. However my one minor criticism is that it appeared a little restricted in terms of budget. So the final act lacked a little grandeur when it really would have helped in terms of impact. Not really the fault of the film makers or actors though. Overall, I was blown away like a shotgun blast from close range. I tip my hat and applaud everyone involved, with the exception of whoever gave this such a low budget to work with.

Benson was very much a Tyler Durden, and even dressed like him. I thought that was going to be the twist the whole time, he created benson in his mind so he could actually stop being such a push over and enjoy life

What's funny to me was him listening to yet another mother even though it's not his mom. I felt him tho cause I would have given her that phone too like umm I didn't kill anyone so go ahead and make your call 🤣. Then when he's babysitting he had the nerve to teach her daughter how to play the same game that took her mother's eye out 🤣 like I would be so traumatized that those big erasers wouldn't be allowed in my house at all 🤣

Although benson definitely snapped, I don’t think it was his first time killing. I thought they’d get more into it but just based off his reaction and the way he breaks down the police response time and shit, yeah, definitely not his first body

Complete surprise classic for me. This really reminded me of those taut 70s action films only with multiple layers added on. Anyone who dismisses this as just a violent shooting movie from description (Guilty myself) will miss out on a movie with much more depth than you would have assumed. At under 100 minutes well worth giving it a chance though calling this film extremely violent is probably an understatement.
