She is the queen of pasta for reason. I live in Scotland but born to portuguese father. When I have taken my better half back to visit my family they are always alarmed at his food combinations and habit of seasoning the food before tasting which they find quite offensive. It's strange that some countries have much stricter traditions with food than others but I guess that's why the Mediterranean countries have the best food on earth in my opinion. It is sad however that as time goes on even the countries with good food traditions are losing them as cultures change and our lives become more and more busy
@jeremyadrian23311 ай бұрын
The better and fresher the meat, the less need to cover up flavor with spices. Maybe your Husband didn't learn, but there are some awesome British chefs out there who just highlight and complement the star of the show. The French are not bad at this either but often use 25 ingredients. Pasta Queen has a lot in common with the three-five ingredient British flavors.

No…there’s not. If it’s a satire page, they do a great job of hiding it because there’s no part that destroys the recipe, no part that indicates that they aren’t just trying to present it. Bless their Hearts, they were gasping just as much as I did. Just know that some of us Americans actually know how to cook...because we watched and listened to our Grandmothers (who had the closest link to our heritages outside of the States). Some people may try these "quick" meals, and that's fine...somedays are like that. However, when you are cooking FOR REAL, you use the real ingredients and you put the actual effort in. I want a channel that only features Grandmothers over the age 65 to teach everyone how to cook in America 😅

Though the thing with traditional food in America is that the food is usually best eaten in place. They don't exactly like to explain over the internet their precious knowledge, they'd rather pass it down personally. There's exceptions but there's not a scene.

What cracks me up is that if remember right, the Aglio De Olio Babish makes is from a movie recipe, not his own stuff. It's hilarious to me cause he so frequently makes things from movies and popular media that are usually pretty terrible and he tries so hard to even make the stuff palatable-!!
@theouthousepoet2 жыл бұрын
Babish has different types of videos - I don’t believe this is one of those inspired from a film/movie/show. Babish is great! Doesn’t always get everything right but he tries his very best, has great presentation, and often has follow-up videos where he “admits” to doing something sub-optimally and does a better job round 2!
@grethi81102 жыл бұрын
that's not the point. the point is, babish doesn't know how to cook pasta properly. the fact that he put the spaghetti in the water when the water was still NOT boiling is enough proof
@nodezsh2 жыл бұрын
@@grethi8110 Babish does know how to cook (not trained though), but he's not an Italian chef. He does not necessarily know his way around pasta. Though the carbonara he made was pretty legit. He stuck to tradition far closer than basically all his peers. The Queen would approve. A shame they didn't see that one.
