About the screensaver lost media thing, after a while of investigation I accidentally found out something quite interesting, it’s not the screensaver but a bit of extra info. Apparently there used to be a website for patapon 3 with a flash minigame and after finishing it it gave you a code, I’m not completely sure what this code was for and the biggest clue I have is a comment from 2011 of a guy saying “I got 2 codes after making a wallpaper but they’re not working” and another person replying “the codes are not activated yet. They can be redeemed once the game releases. Please hold on to your codes until then!”. I also found out that there was an older website used for patapon 2, where you could get a patapon 2 screensaver, found this out because of a comment of a guy saying “...New website is looking good, I still have the patapon 2 screensaver from the old official site. XD” and then a very interesting reply “... don’t forget to redeem to your exclusive in-game item with the voucher received at the end of the mini-game!” And i have been wondering what are they talking about, I never heard before about an exclusive in-game item that you got after redeeming a code on patapon 3. My guess is the following: the minigame they were talking about is the flash game of wallpaper creation talked about in the video and after finishing it it gave you 2 codes, one that you could redeem for the screensaver and other that you could use to exchange for the exclusive item, this is just a guess and I have no other information or personal experience with this old website so my guess could be wrong. Also, I found out that one of the links of the patapon websites is now a Chinese crypto currency thing, this is not relevant at all but I found it funny lmao.

I don't think this would fit anywhere on the iceberg but I'd like to share a small exploit I found. In patapon 2 you can only get 1 of every piece of unique gear for each class type, like haven and demon weapons and armour. There's a way you can get 2 of a singular piece of unique gear. You need to own every piece of unique gear in the game that can drop except for 1. Since unique drops are rare and RNG based, your 2 pieces of the same unique gear are going to be random. My last piece of unique gear was the haven lance. To get 2 of them you need to force ANY high level boss into a rare drop by staggering or sleeping to get the final unique piece of gear you don't own DURING the mission. Then if you're lucky you'll get the exact same unique gear from the boss death reward and own 2. That's how I own 2 haven lances.

I have a vague recollection of the patapon flash website... Here's the thing... when it comes to the Patapon 3 website... wasn't there another site that showcase or promotes the game but instead of the one that's on the video, it showcase the P3 developments. I never decided to visit the western P3 site. I think the reason back then was that it incomplete and it really didn't offer much, especially when it hasn't finalized anything yet. The other site that I was referring to was in Japanese and as I mentioned, showcased the development of the game and its characters and bosses. Upon release, it was abandoned or was no longer updated, but it majorly revealed most of the mobs, monsters, heroes and bosses in the game. It also feature some sort of blog or video showcasing the multi-player development of Patapon 3. It features the testers along with it too. It showcase how the testers will play the VS and what not. They also try doing 4v4 at some point but I'm not sure. Though that's what it all features, the VS multi-player and the demo. This site also directs you to egapon and I was able to play it.... I didn't get far...

The old Wondabarrapa mask was in the PAL multiplayer demo for Patapon 3. But due to the levels on which you obtain the hero, you could only see the second stage of the mask and the third stage if I recall correctly.

kinda late to comment but here are some things to add to some entries on the iceberg : the early Pokkurimakka theme in the Patapon 3 demo ressembled more the Patapon 2 version, they just changed the track a bit in the final game. Also, Sasoriton is a voice clip used when Scorpiton introduces himself in Patapon 1 in "Gate Ghoul Baban". It's a combinasion of Sasori (scorpion in japanese) and -ton. Sasoritan is probably the dark one (akumapon) equivalent of Sasoritan, as -tan is perhaps the dark ones suffix (Kuwagattan, Komutan). 22:16 Toripons were also seen in the introduction cutscene in Patapon 1, so it appears they were scrapped very late into development. Apart from that, one of the best Patapon related video here, I learned lots of things I didn't know about the franchise, thx ;)

I know this video is over year old but you mentioning Patapon 3 website brought me so many memories and hearing that content from it is lost is just sad. As far as I remember I think there was only one ringtone available if you clicked on "ringtones" tab. It was Patapon 3 menu theme and I know this because I used it as an actual ringtone for a long time. I don't recall if there were other ringtones there, although I think it's hard to use other parts of the soundtrack as ringtones (obviously it's a personal preference what do you use as a ringtone but I think that menu theme was good enough as ringtone for promotional use). I have no recall of avatars, wallpapers and screensaver unfortunately. Thanks to @Salarmer and their research that they put in the comment I recalled that indeed there was a flash game that would give you codes there but comparing it to the actual game it had more of a Patapon 1/2 feel. Memories are bit foggy but what I mean by this that you had Hatapon, Yaripon, Tatepon, Yumipon and Yarida. You had a time limit to score needed points to go through another level. There were three levels and the backgrounds and overall visuals were from Patapon 1/2. While playing Yarida would charge his mode although I think it wasn't that visually enchanced (it just looked like Hero charge in Patapon 2 if that makes sense). The first two levels were like a practice, hunting missions and the third was a fight with Dodonga. I think the first two codes were meant to skip the levels that you already played. You played using arrow keys (when you would hit the arrow keys instead of PSP buttons that drums were related to arrows would appear) and only commands for walking attacking worked (I remember trying to play the command for retreating but I could never figure it out how that one would work). Everytime after you played a level you could get some stickers to use for the wallpaper creator (as you showed @9:25). I'm not fully sure if wallpapers by other people were available directly from the website but I definitely remember seeing them shared by their creators on different platforms. During the times when I was using Patapon 3 website, Patapon 2 promotional website was still working and was bit similar to Patapon 3 website but had less things on it, however I didn't spend so much time on it since it was hard to access after Patapon 3 fully released. I remember also using Patapon 1 website but that is also very cloudy in my memories. I only recall wallpapers and other pictures from those. I wish that they could be still accessible with Locoroco websites. Okay! I can explain the last 8 seconds of Guppy Puppy! So, the last 8 seconds are actually that sexy trumpet lick from Wha Wha What Theme (the first time around, without the flutes), used in the Bottomless Stomach Desert mission with the Deaths. If you listen to Wha Wha What, you'll hear it's the same hi-hat, bassline, and jazz organ. I always thought it was supposed to be there, but once it was pointed out to me by you, I noticed it didn't fit.

Patafour cały czas idzie do przodu :) nowe devlogi wolę robić co każdą poważną zmianę w grze, póki co zajmowaliśmy się feedbackiem od użytkowników, optymalizowaniem kodu na słabsze urządzenia, portowaniem gry na inne platformy (linux i mac os x) i oczywiście naprawianiem bugów. Dlatego póki co nie ma "widocznych" zmian, ale te wszystkie kroki już niedługo pozwolą nam dodanie wielu nowych ekscytujących rzeczy ^^

Hey, speaking of weird stuff in Patapon, does anyone know what the deal is with there being a bunch of floating PS button icons sometimes being on the far left of the first hunting stage in Patapon 2? I found this as a kid so I don't remember it super well, but once or twice I got a glimpse of them by pon-pata-pon-pata'ing a couple times in a row and moving the camera all the way to the left. They're just white icons, four in a row like a drum command, three or four on top of each other. Nothing happens when you drum them in, as far as I could figure. Part of me hoped it'd be mentioned on this iceberg actually. Swear I'm not making this up.
