A game you buy for 60$ should not have any "Micro-Transactions," it can appear like a good idea for people who are short on time, but in the end, the game mechanics always change to push you towards spending real money on things, that in the past, you would have gotten in a timely fashion, or just had access to.

Burnie, I doubt you will read this, or anyone who can relay it to you will, but I'm going to say it anyway. I completely agree that the practice of releasing games un-finished is terrible, but allowing people to access a game they know is un-finished is fine, long as it is sold as such, and is finished in a timely fashion. (TL;DR Faulty Full Price Release games that don't work, is terrible, but buying into a game before its ready, long as you know it will have issues, is fine... Long as the game actually gets finished & doesn't sit in "beta" forever.)

I also feel like it's more acceptable for new studios. For example, Starbound, which has been on the top sellers list throughout the holiday sale in spite of the fact that it was never on sale and it's early release, is that development studio's first game. The income can be really important in cases like that, where the developer could be in bad financial condition if they wait to release it fully, and being in bad finances normally hurts games.

Your td;dr is longer and more convoluted than your original thought ;P Anyways, I get why they release unfinished games - and it's because as time and technology goes forward, producing games that meet the "standards" of the industry (like hi-res graphics, physics and AI) gets ridiculously expensive and releasing games in alpha and beta phases are pretty much the only ways to mitigate the costs.

I'm with Ashley. What I did was I got all 3 Mass Effect games for $40 and I was so happy. I was all proud when I made my character and went in I was like "Yeah! This is gonna be great! I can't wait!" And that was quickly overwhelmed by the hatred of Mass Effect 1. See, I am a sniper...I think that alone will explain what was wrong with that game for me. The sniper flails around like you're drunk no matter how much you level it up. It really does, I fully upgraded it. And even then, the Mako was TERRIBLE. Floatiest driving I've ever seen in my life.

I loved the planet exploration on Mass Effect 1 and also loved all the weapons and upgrades you could get. ME2 felt so dumbed down from ME1 and felt less like an RPG IMO.

I read Heart of Darkness, watched Apocalypse Now and played Spec Ops: The Line yet I only found out two months ago that both the film and game were loosely based on Heart of Darkness. I think that their great adaptions because they moved with the times, Apocalypse Now was set during the Vietnam War which was still fresh in people's mind in 1979 and Spec Ops: The Line is set in the middle east which is still fresh in people's mind due to recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I could be wrong here, but I assumed the reason you couldn't fly planes in GTA IV was because it was set in New York City. It's not that they couldn't program it, San Andreas had planes. I just figured 9/11 was the reason for it.

As for the Spartan Assault issues you guys mentioned...I believe since that game uses all cloud save data (both for progress and data between the Win8/WinPhone versions) that this might have caused 'some' of the crashes you experienced.

In tomb raider the hair actually looks better when you turn of tressfx. Because it is more pixelated and acts weirdly at times with tressfx on. + i play on pc and at certain close up scenes my frame rate almost doubled when i turned it off so i would say that i would appreciate it way more if the next gen consoles turned of tressfx and turned up other stuff like water effects textures etc instead of adding the stupid tressfx.

I agree but I think the important part is, and Burnie would probably agree, someone is still pushing technology for better detail in games. So the ground breakers normal aren't that great, but its a sign that better is coming soon

Wesley Miles Yea i guess and physics stuff is realy something i have wanted to have improved the most for a long time now. But they could have had it be better in stuff like cloth hanging around because it isnt devided into so many pices so there wouldent be a need for it to be so pixelated or even better they could ad more particles and stuff in explotions like small rocks or metal shards flying out when you explode a can or something and that those would then interact with the enviornment. Also lara was the only character in the game with tressfx wich made it look even more odd especialy since some of the other characters hair was so porly made even when compared to laras non tressfx hair.

Mike Hunt I don't know, Ghost came pretty close. I mean 'merica created a giant orbital canon, the premise just needs to change to: America is about to point canon at, let's say Cairo, because pyramids. Your job is to hijack it and prevent another war, but then america decides the best option is to blow the station, the debree falling to earth causes a war against america where they pull out the tech used from the orbital canon to fight off the other countries that realise this tech isn't so far fetched and they can actually improve on it. The gameplay evolving from being weaker than the american troops, to stronger than the american troops by using variations of thier tech against them.

The only two situations they do so is if the government finds it terroristic (it waves a flag praising Al-Qaeda and demanded you murder American nationals) or it is heavy porn and is not marked as such. Plenty of games already involve you killing Americans, Spec Ops: The Line probably being the most notable example.

Ryse was not a good start to the XBOne's life. Repetitive combat, completely incorrect historical information, unrelatable characters, unclear story points... when a character accompanies you through the entire game and doesn't make you feel bad when he dies, you know something's wrong.

37:30 that actually kinda happened. There was a hoarder who was compelled to record everything on TV (after having lost many older friends). Her family attempted to save her on boxes of VHS by showing her she can store them on CD/HDD, but then she had a ton of those as well. It just shifted the issue from bigger physical copies that degraded to smaller ones that lasted longer..

***** I would suggest you spend only the time needed there (at least in ME1, cause its huge) but you know its a great trilogy.. I 1000/1000 the first, then the second, bought the third but couldnt care less about my xbox anymore so never really plaayed... wanted to try on ps3 but the problem is when you put above 75 hours in both to get 1000 (then + dlc) and play on another console it feels like your game got deleted. so never played 3 past the opening. but I would still recommend it a lot
