Not being American, the band in the red jumpers always confused me, but I think I just worked it out. So it's a real band named Yo La Tengo, playing a fictional band named Bobby Knight Ranger, which is a tribute band to the real band Night Ranger, but dressed as a real basketball coach named Bobby Knight, who was known for throwing chairs? I think?

Bobby Knight coached several championship basketball teams at Indiana University, which is a college in the same state as Pawnee/Eagleton, and perhaps his most well-known incident was launching a chair across the basketball court protesting a foul. The red sweater and khakis was his defining look also.
