The season finale was as great as I remembered. The return of Cannonbolt gives me so much hype as well as Upchuck and Way Big. I'm disappointed that Heatblast, XLR8 (My favorite alien), Four Arms, and some aliens from the original series never returned until Ultimate Alien and Omniverse.

yea but dagon was by far the weirdest imo. He literally fought using a sword instead of using an alien. I wished he did use alien x in that fight since it was a "major" fight. I found Ben’s attitude shifts reasonable for the most part. He’s still a teenager and at this point of the series he saved the universe which is an tremendous ego boost especially with multiple aliens popping into his room to grant him awards up to the point where there’s a pile of them and later on became a celebrity. Also with some of his Villains coming back with diminishing returns like Vilgax showing up four times in Season 3 getting his ass kicked also playing with his ego. But it also helped to show how serious or personal the situation really was when Ben wasn’t making jokes. Like with Kevin sliding back in both ultimate alien and Omniverse, Z’skar showing up or with the Forever Knights in Ultimate.

I don’t think they actually made the warp gate out of the material you find in the core of a neutron star, lol. Like, how could the Highbreed/DNAliens lift and move that stuff? You see in earlier episodes they’re just lifting it with regular cables and all. Not to mention, if that were actually neutron star material, it would be so dense that it would mess up the gravity all around it almost like a black hole. So most likely the writers were just throwing around jargon to sound cool.

@@colinvollmer well the highbreed were so advanced that only the Galvans had a chance to stop even 1 of their warships. So we know in terms of technology they're one of the more capable races. It isn't inconceivable for them to have the technology to mitigate the gravity and weight issues, even their ships look like their floating with no engines. They probably didn't make the entire gate out of neutronium thought, there have to be other materials involved in such an advance construction. But if it's used in significant quantities, like it's a major part of the gates inner workings or just used for the outer casing or just any use that involves large volumes of the material, waybig will still seriously be impressive like man of steel impressive. However of I think you're right, I don't know if the writers were actually aware of just how insane lifting a neutronium gate actually is. Makes for a fun powerscaling feat though.

As a Doctor Who fan, all I could think of was that this was Ben 10’s equivalent to the Stolen Earth/Journey’s End

This might sound like a weird comparison, but I've noticed Ben 10 has gone through some REALLY similar tone shifts to the Pokemon anime. Ash was also a pretty consistent character up till the end of Diamond and Pearl, after which the writers pretty much did whatever they wanted with him. The DP anime was also a lot more serious/story driven than the previous seasons and felt like a culmination of everything that came before, while every later generation is more self-contained.

I think the reason the galvan planetary defenses aren’t always on is due to the fact that keeping up that much defense most likely takes a ton of energy, and most likely can’t be sustained forever. That or they might be using that energy elsewhere for experiments.

We know Kevin would have mutated again and struggled to stay sane, but with AF's tone and aesthetic from Seasons 1 and 2. The planet that the dragon alien was from would have been a thing at some point. And the Dagan plotline would have been done THERE instead of in Ultimate Alien.

I think it's Paradox in a quantum state when he teleports like schrödinger's cat, existing and nonexisting at the same time in that place. In order to universe let's say "calculate" where he is, he needs an observer. That explains why he and the people he teleported only can be seen when someone sees them. In the first one, Ben saw him in the second Alan saw them and finally Cooper saw them too right before they materialize. but that's just my theory

Don't forget, the Omnitrix has a lot of DNA samples from different aliens, not every alien is good for fighting so probably the 10K means that there are 10K that are good fighters and can be used for hero work and the others are just normal aliens that Ben uses as cover when he is getting intel. Which kind of makes sense as we have so many people on Earth but not all of them can be heroes, most are just every day people

That UA arc (esp. Absolute Power) was amazing. Whenever I see anyone saying Ben doesn’t (intentionally) kill, I’ll point to Absolute Power and laugh. Sure, he may have been stopped from murdering Kevin, but the intention was very much there. I think Ben's contradicting personality moments just goes to show that he's still young and trying to find himself if that makes sense. I'm somewhat of an introvert myself but I can't lie that sometimes when I'm in the spotlight I do enjoy it and then when it goes away I am kind of sad but then I sort of fall back into my routines and I'm perfectly fine with that. So Ben going back and forth makes him feel almost more real in a sense. He's a person with a multifaceted personality that can sometimes lose himself in the fame.

honestly, I was always kinda underwhelmed with this episode, specifically Ben in this episode. I remember first watching it, he gets master control, and I was excited. I remember the whole sequence of him flipping through all his aliens against vilgax and Kevin. I was ready to see him flip through classic aliens, new aliens, hell maybe a new alien. but instead, he's cannonbolt for a bit, then he's jetray for a bit, then he's upchuck for a sec. no flipping back and forth, no swapping on the fly, not even any of the original 10. it's kinda disappointing. then waybig comes out and it should be cool, but he goes down before he can do anything. waybig is supposed to be one of his strongest aliens, but from this point forward he loses every fight he's a part of, and is kinda a joke. that and this whole team doesn't really feel like they have a plan. theyre all just kinda running around shooting things. does Alan or Julie need to be there? cooper builds the reverters, so hes got a use, azimuth and paradox both have their own stake in this fight and have plenty of screen time, and of course the main three are here. but the others? it's not like Ben struggles in the muscle department, they really could have been taken out.

I think Omniverse Ben is the best one. No matter what he goes through, stuff like Classic shows that he's not going to be super mature and serious forever. He will still have those moments, but he'll definitely still be silly.

I like to think the teleportation works almost like a time dilation. Their voices show first but then there physical appearances catches up with them after less then a second. Plus, it'd play into Paradox's themes with him only being visible when he or his accomplices make themselves known like a shrodingers cat.

Personally I don't believe that this was the peak of the show. While I understand the inconsistency in characters created for a weird dynamic the overall show always brought about something new and interesting per series. The Aggregor Arc for Ultimate Alien, Maltruant and Malware were both amazing story archs in Omniverse. I'm not saying that some are better than the other but all I am saying is that the show was great for a long time and has always had some sort of satisfaction in terms of quality. Sometimes it is understandable why Ben's fame causes him to become arrogant and childish but whenever he needs to be he is serious and this point was even brought about in the forge of creation. Just my opinion though.

On the reason why people transporting via Paradox's teleportation talk before appearing, I have a theory: The way Paradox's powers have been explained (from what I remember), is that Paradox has a mental map of the multiverse that allows him not only extremely open time-space travel, but also certain time-related abilities. However, if the initial "map" thing is correct, then maybe it works as like when they're traveling, is like a tube or road through space-time (a la Speed Force from the Flash), and they can see their destination before physically getting there, which allows them to speak into the physical location before actually arriving. This would allow people to speak without being present yet, and once they actually get there, the flash of light happens followed by them showing up.

I don't have many complaints of the first seasons of AF, but the master control being under utilsed is a big one in the 'War of the Worlds'. He asks how many aliens he can turn into. Only after the master control reset did he finally turn into a new one which was off-screen too... He re-locked Cannonbolt, Upchuck and Way Big, but more or less utilised the Omnitrix how he regularly does. Literally had to be reminded that he doesn't have to touch the Omnitrix... When in 'Back with a vengeance' he utilised it like a boss.

Personally for the Visuals, I'd give it a 4/5. Allen's Heatblast form with the unsure rocks or flame on the forearm and its very unsure because each frame is switching, Cannonbolt is missing his back armor/shell and a few more. But hey, these are just my opinions.

Honestly, watching this has made me think that the animators may not have had as much communication or time to make adjustments as they normally would? (To be clear, i want to point this out as an observation, not an insult. I hold immense respect for everyone who can produce art and animation at the rate the industry requires.) A team of animators typically only work on a few scenes at a time (this is how you can notice when the style seems slightly different for example), but based on the number of errors there were, it comes off to me (who, note, is a complete novice in both animation and the industry) that the team may have had either stricter deadlines or less time to work out these errors. the fact that the episode looks as great as it does and has such amazing scenes may explain why there are more noticeable errors.

Basically, we have: Preteen Ben/Teenage Ben: Ben 10 (units) and Ben in his thirties: Ben 10 thousand (thousands) So going off of this that would mean that if Ben found the Omnitrix at any age between 0 and 9 he would be Ben Tenth. Ben's speech to his team reminded me of Captain America's short speech to the gathered Avengers before they executed their *"Time Heist"* plan. Also, Ben should've said *"Hero Time"* before he transformed into Cannonbolt and charged...like this: *Ben: "I know I've said it before, but this time, above all other times, this is the moment where this really counts. Before it may've been a 'Hero Time', but this time...this is THE 'Hero Time'. This is our 'Hero Time'." (activates the Omnitrix) "Eyes forward guys, this is our moment...and the entire universe is depending on us. It's time for the Alien Enforcers to bring the fight to them. IT'S HERO TIME!!!" (transforms into Cannonbolt)* If Ben did that to lead his team into the charge would be just like Black Panther's *"Wakanda Forever"* charge from Infinity War and Captain America's *"Avengers Assemble "* from Endgame it would've been freaking awesome. I personally don't mind Ben's characterization for the rest of UAF. He goes through a bit of character regression, yes, but in a way that feels normal, like how you might expect a teenage boy who has had this much of an ego boost to. The cool mature Ben shines through despite his own lapses. And it's nowhere near as egregious as what Omniverse does.

Just as a heads up, Galvan's defenses are probably always up, but the way Azmuth explains the hybreed attack, it's more likely that the xenosites we're unleashed on the galvan just about at the same time as they started attacking Earth. The DNAlien Galvan's probably shut down the defenses just before the hybreed invaded Either that or the galvan weren't expecting that large of a conquest and they easily took out their defenses
