The Pearl Emmylou Harris O the dragons are gonna fly tonight They're circling low and inside tonight It's another round in the losing fight Out along the great divide tonight We are aging soldiers in an ancient war Seeking out some half remembered shore We drink our fill and still we thirst for more Asking if there's no heaven what is this hunger for? Our path is worn our feet are poorly shod We lift up our prayer against the odds And fear the silence is the voice of God And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah Sorrow is constant and the joys are brief The seasons come and bring no sweet relief Time is a brutal but a careless thief Who takes our lot but leaves behind the grief It is the heart that kills us in the end Just one more old broken bone that cannot mend As it was now and ever shall be amen And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah So there'll be no guiding light for you and me We are not sailors lost out on the sea We were always headed toward eternity Hoping for a glimpse of Gaililee Like falling stars from the universe we are hurled Down through the long loneliness of the world Until we behold the pain become the pearl Cryin’ Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah And we cry Allelujah Allelujah We cry Allelujah

Great to see/hear the energy of this impressive singer that was new to me. more passion and rough edges. A lot of smericana/country music is to polished, imho.

I'm not sure why anyone would think this is autotuned. When he sings "We thirst for more" (around 1:10) he's pretty noticeably flat on the word "more" Maybe y'all haven't listened to him since his older stuff? He can sing well in key when he wants to and has been capable of that for a long time now.

Gods! I thought I was the only one thinking, "You people are nuts!", when going on about how it must be autotuned. Get a refund if it is.
@joeg21687 жыл бұрын
I don't hear the auto tune. He sounds like he normally does live. I can't see him even using it because he hits harmonies with First Aid Kit and they are WAY higher than this. I think Y'all are bugging and hearing things.

I didn't know they autotuned live performances. How would they do that? And wouldn't it be unethical?

Erline Andrews They did to George Strait's farewell concert, and The King sounded robotic as heck. Sad

I'm not hearing the auto tune people are talking about. I would be totally surprised if I found out he was using it. He sounds normal here to me, and I've been listening to him almost everyday for the last 6 years so I feel like I would notice if something was off with his voice. It might just be that since he's singing someone else's song he's being extra careful to hit the right notes. When he performs his own songs live he can be pretty raw and pitchy sometimes so that's what people are probably used to.

Does anyone know why he is autotuned? Could he not reach the right key? Was he sick at the time? Seems strange to me why they'd have to tighten him up so to speak.

Hearing Conor's voice auto-tuned just doesn't sound quite right.

Autotune is destroying the performance. I get it, his pitch is shit. But this wrecks it.
