I started going to Star Wars Weekends when it was "Men Behind the Masks" in 1996. I attended SWW every year and miss those weekends with the Celebrities, fans, and friends. Great memories!!

I am THRILLED to be part of the new opening team here for Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disney's Hollywood Studios (first group of people, including myself, just found out this past Wednesday that we have been selected) and though I will love GE very much with all my heart and soul, I sorely, SORELY miss Star Wars Weekends and especially, the stormtrooper squad skit, James Arnold Taylor's voice impressions, and of course, the Hyperspace Hoopla! I wish they'd bring back the Star Wars weekends. My boyfriend is a major Star Wars fanboy and while I'm not a huge fan I can see it being a lot of fun just to spend time with him at Disney.

I remember being a kid and going to star wars weekends for the first time. I went every year until around 2013. I’m really sad that its no longer a thing, this was such a fun little event that I looked forward every year.

This was a wonderful video. It brought back so many memories during my Disney College Program Spring 2007 & 2010 at the Studios. I loved the dance parties. When I had time off I would try to check out the shows. Thank you for the great video!

I worked in merchandise at the star wars weekend in 2015, what turned out to be the last one. I was so upset when I realized that was the last one as there was no official farewell to the event or anything it just went quietly. I'm glad I got to work there for it's last time though.

The reason why the Hyperspace Hoopla was cancelled in 2013 was because this was around the time that Disney bought the franchise and many hardcore SW fans didn't really like it that much.

I miss weekends so much. It was always so much fun. I went every year sense the beginning. I like it better than what they have now. Yes Galaxys edge looks beautiful and I have only been on the falcon ride; which is fantastic if your the pilot. But it just lacks the magic that was weekends.

Disney Desperately needs to bring back Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. There is no reason why they can't have both Galaxy's Edge land and Star Wars Weekends events and meets outside of Galaxy's Edge. Hyperspace Hoopla was SPECTACULARLY fun and is sorely missed. Disney parks are nothing without their characters and Star Wars Weekends was saturated with them. In Galaxy's edge, maybe you get lucky if you see Rey, Chewy or some Storm troopers walking from place to place. That's it. Disney has spent all their creative energy trying to price gouge guests to pay for experiences and up-charges. It's sad the way that current management is ruining all the great things about a Disney Parks experience and just turning everything into cash grabs.

I didn’t even know it was discontinued!! I grew up in Florida but have lived in Japan since 2015 so that’s probably why, but what a shame. I loved going to SWW and seeing all their goofy takes on the franchise. I still have my name tag somewhere...

This would be incredible to bring back after Rise of Skywalker comes out, I can't imagine Disney missing an oppertunity for another special event, especially if it means merchandising. It could lighten up the seriousness of the current trilogy and land and bring in non-die hard fans.

Star Wars Galactic Nights was ran for a while as a sort of special event version of weekends but there hasn't been any announced for this year. With the opening of Galaxys Edge and the end of the Skywalker Saga it seems like the perfect opportunity to host another one! - Luke

I haven’t been to Star Wars weekend but every time I watched the parade and the characters of Star Wars canon it makes me want to see it in real life. Wouldn’t that be cool somewhere if Disney brought Star Wars universe canon characters back to do two things one to pay respect for Star Wars and the second thing to apologize to the fans that pay for toys for calling them every card in the book. Respect them, they will come, troll them, bye bye money. That’s all I have to say have a wonderful day.

ReviewTyme I agree with that except Batuu. I’ve been there and I just feel like in a land that’s just a knock off of Star Wars. I’m not feeling Star Wars at all in Batuu land. That only thing that feels Star Wars is the Star Wars weekend, Star Wars 1-6, Rogue one (even though I haven’t seen it), the original Star Wars EU, and the two animated series that are the same style of animation. Possibly the Mandalorian if it is good.

Star Wars is failing right before our eyes thanks to the mishandling of the franchise. Personally I prefer the celebration of everything Star Wars over this new focus of only the sequel trilogy era that galaxies edge pushes. RIP Star Wars

The Hoopla was super cringe, never watched it. The interviews with the cast were really good, and Warwick always was a really good host.
