The Chinese Military has not surpassed the US military. Having a pile of stuff isn't the same as having well-practiced logistics to get it where you want it to go. And we don't know how much of that stuff is "tofu dreg" quality like Chinese housing and roads collapsing every week. Or the lack of drainage making yearly flooding so much worse. Or the Road & Belt Initiative projects that are falling down all over the world.

Having more tonnage does not mean "they beat" anyone. Is 100000 tons of coastal patrol boats the same as one Gerald R. Ford-class aircraft carrier? China has two aircraft "cruisers" based on the Kuznetsov-class. Considering how poorly the _Admiral Kuznetsov_ has managed during the Ukraine War, China's decision to buy Russian carriers might not turn out as well you expect. Unlike western naval ships that use gas turbines or nuclear power, Admiral Kuznetsov is a conventionally powered ship that uses mazut as a fuel, often leading to a visible trail of heavy black smoke that can be seen at a great distance.

The Chinese navy, airforce and army are not nowhere near those of the West, not to mention the mighty US ones. The Chinese military assets are many but they are not tested in the battle field.
