Excellent presentation. There are many of us in the US who keep the fountain pen alive. Yes, rollerballs and ballpoints are de rigeure but for those who appreciate the sheer joy of writing, there is nothing like a fountain pen.

Great back story. Just realized that Brian Goulet is the Godfather of Fountain Pens, yet he's so youthful. Thank you.

Thank you Kerry and thanks to Appelboom for another great video in this new series. I agree, Kerry, about Benu pens. My initial impressions were quite critical as I thought Benu "over did" the glitter and sparkles. Then something strange happened. I went to my first ever Pen Show. I saw, for the first time, a selection of Benu pens on a table in front of me. Suddenly I was won over. A complete change of opinion after seeing how beautiful these pens are. I really like them so much. I also got into fountain pens by accident. Actually my first ever fountain pen was bought for me as a present by my parents when I was 11 years old. It was a Parker (can't remember the model) and I was about to start secondary school. I actually hated the pen and had no idea how to use it. Fast forward a lot of years and, while talking to a friend who had a Parker 51, we spoke in general about fountain pens. I decided to try one again and purchased a Parker IM. That was it. I was suddenly hooked. Now I must have a collection that is well over a hundred pens. If it weren't for KZbin pen channels like yours I don't think this hobby would have gripped me in the way it has. So, to you and all the many pen KZbinrs, a big Thank You.

Mine started at 11, also. A schoolmate was using a fountain pen for her writing assignments. I was so intrigued, I asked my parents to get one for me. It was a Scripto. The model escapes me and I don't think they are made anymore. Skip to university and my second pen was a Parker 75 cisele. Quite a jump from a Scripto.

Great video. I always enjoy hearing Kerry’s FP genesis story. I think there are some great steel nibs out there and they’re nothing to sniff at. I have a fair few steel nibs that write better than some of my gold nibs. It’s a complex equation, but gold isn’t always better.

Hmm, nice critique of Benu F Pens. I purchased a Benu Briolette as a Christmas gift, so I never got to use it, or see it up close. As a confirmed Pilot Custom user, I really thought the color combinations were fascinating. I’m definitely going to look into a purchase for myself. Wow, they sure do sparkle and are so pretty. Thanks for sharing 👍😎🤗
