Absolutely. Blew me away and I was already excited but unsure. Does everything a first ep should. Only problem is how does Batman not notice any of this but I think it was said he’s missing and prob busy saving or helping people from the destruction of the flood and actually doing something with his money and being Bruce Wayne more and day time makes it easier to avoid him. I really hope there will be at least one scene where everything is going according to plan but it gets ruined when Batman catches on and attacks some men

Given the incredible hassle of it, I don't see the whole concept of actors transforming like this becoming a regular thing. It seems like a bit too much just for a kind of conceptual gimmick. But to my mind, it's such a great addition to this series in particular. What I love about Reeves Batman universe, and this show in particular, is how carefully it disguises what it is. It looks like a crime drama, The Sopranos in Gotham City. But at its roots, it's 100% a comic book story. It just strips away all the fantastical surface trappings of superhero comics. No superpowers, no goofy fake science, no comical deformities like we saw in the Dick Tracy film. And yet, Penguin drives a purple penguin-mobile, to match his purple suits. He makes a fictional narcotic out of mushrooms in a secret underground lair. And Sophia has a supervillain origin story to match any in comics. It's just all perfectly plausible for real life, so much so that none of it needs exposition, the way, say Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy had to explain in detail all the impossible tech and Batman lore. So Penguin himself is a creation, almost a caricature, designed by an artist. How much more comic-book can you get? It's almost esoteric to put that much labor into making Colin look like a person who doesn't really exist, just to make a realistic version of the campy mob characters from Dick Tracy. But it's a reminder that this is 100% a comic book movie.
