Technically this show did end with a cliffhanger.
@Urizen7772 ай бұрын
@@thedukeofchutney468 I wouldn't exactly call neither the letter to Sofia from Selina nor the Batman signal a cliffhanger. The first one serves more to give some sort of relief to a homicidal and crazy, but certainly tragic character, who was betrayed by her family and has lost the only member of that family who actually cared about her (Alberto), by finding out she has a sister (whose mother was also killed by her father like Sofia's). The latter, I find to be more a reminder that Batman is still out there and in some ways it presents a looming threat over the Penguin's victory, as it was throughout the entire show, as whenever he thought he was on top, something would come to bite him in the ass. That's my take on both of these moments, unless you meant something else, I've forgot about?

We know Batman probably finds Vic's body. And probably knows who killed him too. It's crazy how good this series was. Can't believe ign gave this a 5/10. What were they watching???

@@Randomaccount9470 this is a stand alone series. Vic clutched up so many times but it’s oz story. Sorry yall love Vic but he will never be mentioned again. Another absolute nobody dead by the river. No traceable ties to oz. Come back to me when Batman 2 is out. He will have to deal with many others including oz, Vic has no reason to be on his radar, only oz

Man the showrunner Lauren LOVES Oz as a character. When you give people who love the world and characters the reins, you end up making something special.
@codyhoskins13192 ай бұрын
I really thought Vic would have survived as the most sympathetic character on the show in the same vein of Jesse Pinkman being the reluctant younger partner to Walter White and then escaping when it all came crashing down. Now that Oz has his blood and that of his own brothers and the pain of his mother on his hands, he'll get whatever he deserves if Batman, the law, or Sofia teach him.

Top tier casting throughout the series, Rhenzy Feliz especially. He was the 'Jesse' to Farrell's 'Walt'. Brutal. Great writing and direction too. Seriously bravo, exceeded my expectations.

This show is not only successful because it was well written, filmed, edited and acted. It was also successful because it was made by people who respect their audiences and care about creating a good experience for them. The rest of hollywood should take notes from you guys if they want to win their audiences back sometime soon. Might be too late for a few of them, but The Penguin completely won me over to The Batman franchise and I am excited to see what come next. Thank you for The Penguin. What an enjoyable and refreshing experience! Love from Denmark.

At 8:30 I think that is the most refreshing thing to hear about the series and about the direction of the art is making complete stories but not teasing everything or trying to sell something else. That's not even including the refreshing amount of good story telling, characters, etc. I'm loving the confidence and style that everyone is putting into this art form

Everyone should go back and watch the first and last episode. It was literally a repetition of what happened in the first 6 minutes of the show, Oz makes it seem like he’s your friend and he puts a mask on. And when he lets that go you can see the change in his face. The evilest grin a man could have razors his face. Shows you he truly enjoys what he does and feels no regret because his justification is “I had to do it”

Best show of the year for sure. Colling Farrell gave us the best Penguin EVER. Cristin made an amazing Sofia-WHAT A CHARACTER! Rhenzy acted perfectly with Farrel. The speech he gave Penguin in the hospital was the best character growth moment in the show. And with all that said, Deirdre O`Connell gave a breathtaking act playing Penguin`s mom. Wow, she was such an amazing and interesting character. And she reavealing she knew what Penguin did all along? HOLY COW! It was an 11 out of 10 show for sure!!

Oz is willing to do anything to save himself..... from himself. I find the most compelling thing for me that stood out, was Oz's relationship with Rex. At the start of the show, the story about the gangster in his hometown that was a hero, almost a father figure to him, is the same person that was going to murder him/ use him for his, "talent." Its the same person that Oz wants to be when he grows up, not for the reasons he mentions, but to have that power and to use it and manipulate those same people he helps out. Oz learned how to be someone like Rex from himself, from his own jealously of his brothers, not for a means of survival of being born into slums like I assume Rex was. Rex had an ends to a means, Oz was born with that drive. I love that its a call back to the first scene we see Oz being vulnerable with Alberto. I think thats one of the only times in the show we see Oz being 100% himself and thats why he has the spring reaction of killing him- he thinks he's made it to the big leagues with the Falcones with being cool with Alberto he can relax for a second, but then his ego gets checked and he cant handle it.
