Can we take a moment to appreciate Lauren LeFranc? She's the show creator and showrunner, and she has done an incredible job. I haven't read enough praises to her.

This show is all about The Penguin, but Cristin Milioti steals every scene she's in. Those eyes man. Also, a very Joker & Harley story with Sofia and the therapist, without the camp.

Director Helen Shaver needs to be given not only an Emmy but give her her choice of ANY future movie or tv show she wants to direct. It was such a brilliant move to have Sofia’s story start off in this bright and colorful charity event, then get darker and drained of color as they’re inside Arkham Asylum, and then have this gorgeous warm sunlight follow Sofia as she’s walking through the mansion past the bodies of all of her treacherous family.

Dude this was such a one two punch. I don't think there has been a bad episode on this show. This is a master class in writing and acting and production design and all the things it takes to captivate an audience.

I like it when a series knows where it's going and is not just checking boxes instead of writing good characters or an interesting plot. Or hell, even a competent plot.

What I love about this show is that there is legitimate social and political commentary in it, to the point that I could easily see people labeling it as "woke", but it's so subtle and well integrated into the plot. You've got wealth gap, Oz subtly deriding capitalism with his restaurant talk with Vic, Sofia instituting socialism with her co-op crime family, corruption amongst the police and politicians, even some subtle institutional racism with Vic's traffic stop. This is some chef's kiss leftist commentary, disguised as a show about organized crime, lol.

Welp this came at the right time because I've been watching these 2 episodes at a time after the first episode. I recommend watching it this way haha Not gonna lie, I actually shed a couple tears rewatching the episode 4 portion of this video. It was one heavy episode and that descent into madness is so damn tragic. Cristin Milioti's acting is nothing but top tier.

@QwazinАй бұрын
I love the Breaking Bad-esque quality of the writing, in terms of how they keep blowing up these secrets the characters have that a lesser show would've milked for multiple seasons. It's really fun to see Oz try and work himself out from between a rock and a hard place.

This show is better than Daredevil series 1. I never thought I would see a better comic book TV series than Daredevil. Maybe how much I love The Batman movie swings my opinion, but I think this is one of the best comic book adaptations period, movies included. Phenomenal

Like I said last week, this is the Greatest Comic Book Show since Batman the Animated Series. However, I'm gonna echo Mr. Campia and say this series is so great I don't consider it a comic book show anymore. It's among the greatest crime dramas ever produced. Coppola, Scorsese, Tarantino, De Palma, and Mann would all have their mouths on their laps watching this show.

It's great that I now have 3 characters in The Penguin, Ms. Gigante, and Victor whose stories I'm equally interested in following. Oh, just noticed this is last week's episode too. Sofia sounded so normal before her time in Arkham, making her story all the more tragic. Hated the Akham Asylum set and Magpie though. The cell location looked ike a tiny stage set. The food court was somewhat better but not by much. Then the giant toe rings around their necks. The worst was Magpie though who sounded like someone trying to do a cartoon voice instead of a real person. She took me out of it every time she spoke. There are instances where I want the show to take more of the realistic Chris Nolan route than the Tim Burton or D. Tracy route it sometimes does. But overall this was a solid episode that pulled me into Sofia's character and story. She is now a co-lead more than a secondary character to me. Both were great episodes. Can't wait till SW consistently gets writers this good.

As much as I love Penguin, I would honestly bend the knee before Sofia Gigante. I honestly put her up there now with Kingpin and Gus Fring as my all time favorite tv mob bosses. Also give Cristin Milioti the goddamn Emmy right now! She already had my vote for the first 3 episodes alone, but now I’m gonna root as fiercely for Cristin like I did for Anna Sawai for Shogun.
