In a perhaps unsurprising act of vanity, Daniel pins his own comment in an attempt to overcompensate for the absence of a bucket in his life. This does not, in fact, fill the void in his heart, however, and Daniel leaves the comment section feeling sadder than usual. Then Daniel realizes that perhaps virtual posturing isn't what he needed after all, and decides to go shopping for his very own bucket. This may be the beginning of a beautiful and fulfilling new relationship, assuming of course his friends don't get jealous and plot the... elimination of his new friend.

@jacobnorris8256 If you think this game has no deliberate commentary on and exploration of choice, narrative, or...it literally self-identifies as a "parable," which is literally "a short story that illustrates a universal truth or lesson." It's presented in a comic way and meant to be enjoyable as interactive media, but comedy is often a tool for criticism and exploration of complex subjects. Spoilers for an ending my favorite ending to this game which you missed in this video (not blaming you at all, its a very well hidden ending) is when you take the bucket all the way to the bosses office, and just as you enter the room, before the doors close, you rush out of the room as the doors lock you out of the story, you walk all the way back to Office 427, the Narrator gone the entire time, and find that the door to office 428 is open, going inside, yyou find its an escape route out of the office building. Going up several flights of stairs leading to a supposed escape pod, you may notice that every floor you go up to is identical, when you finally reach the escape pod 1) Without the bucket: The screen cuts to black before you can reach it, and the game restarts. 2) With the bucket, a cutscene begins where stanley looks at his bucket longingly, before placing the bucket on the edge of the entrance to the escape pod, he carresses its cold steel casing, after a very long full minute of carressing his bucket, stanley sighs, and places the bucket into the escape pod, watches the door close, and the game restarts. Upon starting the next run of the game, the bucket is nowhere to be found. :(

An unexplainable obsession over buckets and a desire to get one is something that I as a Finnish man can truly relate to. Loved the video.

I can't believe Daniel didn't acknowledge or even react to: "and she backflipped all the way to work." Such a good line to finish an ending with

Stanley Parable is such a cornerstone of interactive media. It's seemingly devoid of game mechanics outside movement and the occasional additions of gameplay, yet in reality its main gameplay feature is, curiously enough, the ability to make choices. Every choice in route or action leads to a change in the narrative, even with some serious changes in genre, from witty comedy to existential horror to metafictional critique, it's the textbook definition of interactivity. And RT's playstyle brings a fresh new layer to the gameplay; the experience of videogames relies on the intentions and knowledge of the player; the more knowledge a player has, the better or more effectively they can act upon the game and alter the narrative to their will; RT's previous knowledge of Stanley Parable, as well as his natural drive to poke and prod at the game as much as possible, combine to form one of the most interesting playthroughs of this game I've ever seen. I wish Daniel plays more of these trippy games with unique narrative elements baked into their gameplay mechanics, because I live for that kind of content. If I may suggest, Hypnospace Outlaw sounds like the ideal game for a literature graduate, as it's a hypertext with various layers and iterations of reality that tells a harrowing story of the downfall of the early internet. Another I'd think he'd like is Ghost Trick, especially after playing the Ace Attorney games, because it's got a killer mystery and intensely logical and interesting gameplay, as well as charming characters that I feel RT would much enjoy. Thank you for bringing us extremely astonishing narrative experiences, RT, I'll be definitely referencing your gameplay whenever I make my thesis work on the narrative nuance of gameplay in videogames

at the end of top step in this insight climb, you have the campfire gameplay feeling. your choices are going and waiting. that's it. beautiful. stunning. haunting.

Ohhhhhhhh it's an ultra deluxe edition. I thought for a second I was living in a timeline where this game had *just* come out but I somehow watched a video of all the endings like 5 years ago. I'm not even playing the game and it's messing with my head
