I love your economic life style. I live the same way. That is how I can aford to own a farm, a sailboat and travel as I please. Best of all it is all paid for and I live debt free. Good for you guys staying with your plan and living the good life. I am sure you are great cooks and eat healthier than those who eat at resturants all the time. You will live a good quality long life. Less stress and greater relaxation because you use your brains and make good decisions. Bless you both and your families who did such a great job bringing you both up to be responsible, good hearted people. ♡ ♡ ♡

So, thanks for prooving me wrong over and over again. Getting well deserved help from different sources, and just managing... This also inspires and tells people that good teamwork, endurance and creativity really works! Personally I get a huge amount of pleasure out of living frugally. If a meal out costs €50, I see that as translating in to (say) four hours of work that I don't have to do if I don't go out.

I gave up buying expensive meals when I finally realised that the whole fine dining thing is a rip-off. Give me a good Indian or Chinese meal and I'm quite happy, usually happier than I would be with some overpriced insult to my intelligence. The winners of the £184m lottery ticket will soon be finding this out. I always think of the king's new clothes.

Well done catching your barracuda, I knew you would find the tackle handy 😅 As far as qualifications go, Sailing Uma had none until they took Day Skipper in Plymouth. It’s transferable to the International Certificate of Competence which is all need to charter a boat in most places in the Med. Also insurance in Spain covers you for a tow if you breakdown, otherwise a bit pricey as there rescue service is government run. 👍🏼

For half an hour a week I live vicariously through you two. Top top top quality vids, in content, presentation, filmography, the lot. Spent 30 years roaming the globe, living & working, soaking it all in. Started off taking a big risk at the turn of '90, just cashing out, buying a ticket and heading off. Only now have I decided to put down some roots. Suffering a little with itchy feet syndrome ): There's no right or wrong way, you follow what works best for you. Funnily enough, the longer the adventure continues, the less 'risks' there are, it becomes more educated decisions. Long may you continue! Andy.

Great video. We lived on a monohull in the Caribbean for 3 years in the mid 90's on anchor. Learning how to kedge off makes a rolley anchorages much nicer. To kedge off on a single anchor add a line to the anchor rode & let a few feet of road out. Take the line you have attached to anchor rode to the boat's stern cleat & pull it in until the bow swings around to face the swell. This makes it much more tolerable experience. It will take some tinkering, which you guys are good at, to get right but certainly worth the effort. Keep the good work. It beings back lot's good memories. W.D.Ryan

Minimising expenditure is an art. It is completely different to saving money. It is about using the tiniest amount of resources to achieve an objective - as in washing a knife with drips, and using every thing to its most efficient amount, eg. of heat, needed to cook.

Totally love it. Raw in all aspects but the viewing quality far exceeds the ''professional'' top of the range Steven Spielberg productions. No special effects, no scripted dialogue, simply take us as you find us approach. Like your approach to quals, insurance etc. Definitely with this you are sailing close to wind but boy it's inspiring stuff. Agree there are two views with these matters, one being full of bureaucracy, money slipping through clenched fists feeding extortionate training academies etc. The other being, live and learn, the onus on this being the ''living'' and that's what you are doing, it's a simple as that. In a word, Brilliant.
