I really like this group. They are so fun and talented. All of these female Japanese rock bands has saved music for me. Not because they are beautiful (which they are) but because of the talent and creativity. They have breathed new life back into music for me.

Gacharic Spin are one of the best bands from Japan in my humble opinion. Very innovative, you never know what they are going to do next. Extremely talented and nice people to boot. Plus, they are killer live!

Very spot on reaction. This is your brain. 😀 This is your brain on Gacharic Spin Funk Metal. 🤯 Better get used to it. Contagious. Great fun jazzy song. Very progressive. Reminds me of Dave Brubeck perhaps one of the great pianists from jazz. Gacharic Spin bass player is extraordinary and also has the coolest name in all of rock and roll history, F Chopper Koga. Maybe they are the most destructive all girl band. Miyako will lecture them not to abuse their poor instruments.

Great review and yes, you don't need to know the lyrics to figure out what the song was about. Definitely some funk vibes but that solo is right of the of jazz/rock fusion genre that was popular in the 70's. Chick Corea's electric "Return to Forever" band came to my mind. The energy of their live shows is off the charts. Yes, extremely talented since the 4 main members are in their 30's and have been together for many years. Pink-haired Angelina 1/3, is one of the newest members (they found her when she was still in high school) and she has brought a new energy and musical direction to the band. A few recommendations that can be copy and pasted into KZbin search.... Gacharic Spin - I wish I (Official Live Video) in 豊洲PIT (Lyrics in English) A heavier rock sound 【Live】Gacharic Spin「TAMASHII」2019 High energy and two drummers. Gacharic Spin - "Lock On" - Live at 豊洲PIT They also did a side project called Doll$Boxx with Fuki, the singer from Unlucky Morpheus. Check out Take My Chance/DOLL$BOXX

Yep it's pretty much impossible to define Gacharic Spin! Even when you've seen a whole ton of stuff they'll still surprise you. Interesting on the polyphia comment - I saw one other reactor make the same comparison although the song was "Rabbit Hole" which is at the jazziest end of their musical spectrum IMO. I would still recommend "I Wish I" live next or Replica MV to get a different angle on their musical possibilities - enjoy!

Only heard a couple songs from them, this is the only one I can name by title. They mix rock, pop, alternative and electronic. Makes for an interesting sound. Formed by bassist F. Chopper Koga in 2009 with her high school classmate Hana on drums. I think it's pronounced (Ga -Char - ic) Spin. The musicians from this band , along with vocalist Fuki of Unlucky Morpheus comprise the band Doll $ Box (hard rock/power metal/electropop).

“Ga-cha,” like “Cha-cha.” The song is about throwing off and breaking fee from the constraints and expectations the Japanese society places on young women. They have been going at it for 14 years, with an evolving lineup and sound. Of you want chills, see how GACHAPIN opened their set at NAONのYAON 2023, the Tokyo festival celebrating female musicians. This starts with an abbreviated version of REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY, followed by THE COME UP CHAPTER, in a super frenetic, chaotic, heavy, and tight performance, including harmonized twin lead guitars (you’ll also hear how they say GACHARIC SPIN, twice) - kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3apiptpjM6smKM

Few things in life give you a better boost in life than an adult kid walking behind me and smacking the back of my heart and saying 'Dad! They could be me daughter!!" 'Yeah coach, but your old man just wants to drive the man, haul the gear and babysit the merch table and play security again. Gave that up when I met your mom at a gig.

Just say "gotcha-rick" spin ;) . The lead singer during the course of this song always makes me think of that crazy girl you chased for a date but eventually realized you needed a restraining order ... All these girls are spectacular but as you can see most people watch because of F Chopper Koga's bass.

Congrats on finding Gacharic Spin, one of the wildest, most talented and unpredictable bands in the world. GS started in 2009, with a lead singer called Armmy (Takae Ashitomi). They did a sort of highly technical punk-pop, but crossed genres a lot. They started to have friction between Armmy and the rest of the band, and then in early 2012 she left, officially for health reasons. She died tragically young in 2015; their work with her is very much worth seeing-here is an early one: “Setsunaku” kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJfdeqdoZcSrjsk The girls were all just out of high school, and you can see they were already doing pretty advanced, technical stuff. When Armmy left, GS had tours lined up in both Japan and abroad for 2012, and needed a lead singer. For the Japan tour various singers (including Fuki) filled in for different shows, but they couldn’t find someone good enough who could also commit to the band full time For their overseas tour Hana (who was doing drums and vocals and was effectively the co-leader of the band) took the lead vocals on herself. She also happens to play several other instruments. Here is a live performance of their track Across The Now from a tiny venue in France (filmed as part of their 2012 overseas tour-this was Hana's first test at taking lead vocals whilst drumming): kzbin.info/www/bejne/lX3Rh3SdptF4bsk GS had had great chemistry with Fuki when she filled in for them, so while they were figuring out what to do with GS they contacted Fuki about doing a more metal project. This became Doll$Boxx. They wrote and recorded their first album at the end of 2012, then picked up GS again full time in 2013. This remains their main focus, and Fuki is busy with many projects including her main band Unlucky Morpheus, but they occasionally continue to perform together when their schedules permit. So Doll$Boxx can be considered a special project of GS. Regarding the genre of Gacharic Spin, it's pretty much impossible to pin it down to any one thing, although by and large they'd probably fall very roughly in the "pop rock" genre although they really just do whatever they want at any given time. You'll find everything in their back catalogue from metal and punk to electro, dance, pop and ballads. Most of their recent work merges multiple genres. In recent years, Gacharic Spin have added more personnel (a drummer, allowing Hana to focus on guitar and vocals, and dancers who also sing). Core personnel (these are also the members of Doll$Boxx along with Fuki): Hana (Hana Sano): vocals, drums, guitar, keytar, other instruments Tomo-Zo (Tomoko Midorikawa): lead guitar F-Chopper Koga (Michiko Koga): bass Oreo Reona (Reona Suzuki): keyboards, vocals All of them can sing and occasionally take on lead or backing vocals. Hana and Oreo also do metal growls in some songs. Several other performers have rotated in and out of GS. Currently they list Yuri as their drummer and Angelina doing dance and vocals. Here's a fun video of them performing their track Hunting Summer: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIizqouQr8qJabs Oreo takes lead vocals on this and there's a fun dueling keyboard solo between her and one of the dancers. Here is Fantasy Medley, live, a medley of several of Tomo-zo's songs which are often named with a fantasy theme like Weekend Fantasy, Final Fantasy, etc: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn3SoquVa6dmitk Finally, one of their most recent official videos, a remarkable excursion through fusion, electro-pop, metal and funk with some symphonic keyboards thrown in. Very few bands have the technical chops to pull off anything like this. “Mindset” kzbin.info/www/bejne/h56vYYlsa5yEsKs (you just watched this).

Gacharic Spin's genre of music is very easy to define, it is Rock/Pop/Fusion/Metal/Techno/Dance/etc... LOL They pretty much do what they want on any given songs and all of them are great. Out of the 6 members currently, 4 of them have had songs were they are the lead singer. Preciously they had 2 members called Entertainers and they did have a song where they were the lead on top of playing keys from time to time. If you want to have fun, check out their live stuff like Hunting Summer from 2017, I will link the video in a reply to make sure that at least the comment isn't flagged by KZbin
