The ultimate Pokémon Type Chart! Democratically REWORKED using the suggestions of YOU, the commenters! I've read through every comment, suggestion, philosophy, reasoning, and ideal posted in the comments and used them all to inform every decision in the chart. Obviously, if you don't comment, I don't know your opinion, and your opinion may not have been represented. So if you feel like something should change, or something should be different, comment about it. This was the combined, spoken will of the community, now is your opportunity to give feedback to each other about the results. I will use that feedback to adjust the type chart again. You can think of it like an election: if you don't cast your vote, then you're subject to the votes of everyone else. Splitting water into water and boil might make sense, or at least as a subtype. It would be super effective against ice, include moves like scald, steam cannon and hydro steam, a lot of moves with burn, some mist/fog/vapor based status moves, phisical moves like hard boiled fist (since hard boiled means tough) etc.

I think it's funny that rock and ground got combined like most people usually argue as well as water and ice, but flying got split into Flying and Wind. Also Stink type got added, let's go! This is an interesting, ambituous and slightly confused project. On the one hand we add types and split types - on the other hand we merge Rock and ground, and water and ice.... I think these are at cross purposes - are we splitting types into more specific types ? Or are we broadening types? I think maybe you could do two separate projects - one maximal and one minimal. Or the minimalist challenge you could merge ghost and psychic into Spirit - and merge psychic and fairy into Magic. Normal and Bug can be Critter or beast type. Dark and Dragon can be merged into Predator type. etc. Dragon and fighting can be Power types. For Maximal types, you can split them even more gradually than you did in this system. Ground can be Sand and Soil, Rock can be Rock and Gem. Psyhcich can have cosmic, Fairy can be split into magic and light. poison can have toxins and disease. Plants can have plants and fungi. Normal can have homnid and beast.

A blade/sword/cutting type would make sense to me. Not every move that boosted by shapness would be blade type but normal moves like cut, slash, false swipe would be fitting. Mons like gallade, samurott, aegislash, sceptile, ceruledge, farfetchd, kartana etc would fit tge type very well. We also would finally have cut be super effective against grass.

no way you made the link type take no damage. oh yeah, you thought wonder guard was broken? well now its on the type chart. jfc you forgot that pokemon can learn other moves that arent their type. Link type attacking moves would be useless, but defensively untouchable. ffs....

can I please have a Primal type? It’s for new improved versions of the fossil Pokémon. I just really like prehistoric creatures and I think a primal type would be a good addition plus grass has steel water has ground. Fire doesn’t have anything that combines with it to make one weakness and almost nothing else

fire/ground is already only 2x weak to ground & 4x weak to water. basically the same as grass/steel just being 4x weak to fire & 2x weak to fighting

You’re wrong about one thing. If you throw an icicle at a rock with enough force, the rock would break. So ice would clearly beat rock.

You can find reasons for ice to be super effective against most any type. As Ice expands while cooling you can just argue that if you freeze the water inside of Rocks you will destroy them, a phenomenon that is already happening on earth.
