Many years ago I was with my elderly Mother and, as she had a cane and had a difficult time getting around, I parked (like I NEVER usually do for just this reason) in the front row of a restaurant we went to for lunch. This particular restaurant had take out service so people would routinely come and go and most parked in the front area when getting take out. Note, I was NOT in a handicapped place, just in the front row. Sure enough, we came out and there was a nice dent in the side of my SUV from someone's door. I said “Well we are from Texas and we learn to respect others and their property.” They started to walk away from the damage they caused and I said “Go have fun, I will wait here for the sheriff “. Immediately the mother turns around and says “I will pay for the damages. You don’t have to call the sheriff “. Turns out they were in her company car from New York and she didn’t want her company to know they where using it to go to Disney. Funny how people’s attitudes change when they fear losing something when they didn’t care about your loss to begin with.

We will all die one day. And if we're being honest, none of us are good, not one. We have all sinned and fallen short of God's standard, and that's terrifying. God's standard is perfection and we sin against him every day. Thankfully, there is forgiveness in the sacrifice that Jesus paid on the cross. He bore the punishment that was due us. All we need to do is repent to God for our sins with our mouth, believe in Jesus and what He did with our hearts, and we receive the inheritance of an eternity of peace and blessings with God, instead of His anger and judgement against us and our sins, which we deserve. Eternal blessing instead of eternal punishment.
