So I've got a few things to say about this video: 1. Kira doesn't really think of himself as a protagonist or that he's in the right in any way. He knows what he's doing is wrong but just can't stop himself. If anything, Pucci and Valentine see themselves as the protagonists much more; Valentine does know that he isn't the most morally great guy, but thinks that his path is truly righteous. While Pucci has just deluded himself into thinking everything he does is for good. 2. Killer Queen isn't really messy or noisy. It's explosions are completely silent, (which is unfortunately something the anime doesn't really make clear) and it cleanly wipes everything from existence without leaving a trace or damaging it's surroundings. While your take on it is really interesting, KQ fits Kira much better than you give it credit. 3. Great video, hope to see more👌

I've always thought Killer Queen was a perfect stand for someone like Kira. He's someone who doesn't like to draw attention to himself, so having a stand that can effectively silently erase people from existence without a trace seems perfect for a serial killer. Even sheer heart attack (which I'll remind you doesn't have any weaknesses) can seemingly track down and destroy anything in town Kira wants. Kira didn't even know Killer Queen was a stand until Shigechi told him. Yet even though he essentially had a walking deletion machine he still used it discreetly to the point that 2 people in the same room didn't notice anything off when he used it to steal rent. Great video as always btw!

I also noticed that Killer Queen's cat-like appearance isn't coincidental, rather it symbolizes how he just wants to live a quiet life. Cats are calm quiet creatures who sleep 16 hours a day, so their daily life is similar to Kira's dream life

Some people don't like Kira's death being from an ambulance. I think it's poetic. The man who never wished to be noticed by the outside world got exactly what he wanted at the wrong time, with the ambulance driver never realizing he was there until it was too late. Maybe not climactic in terms of action, but definitely cathartic.

I absolutely fucking loved the ending of Part 4. The accidental and gruesome way he finally dies, the scene on the ghost street where he is informed that he is dead by Reimi. His face turning back into the way he looked before he stole someone’s identity. The hands, his own hand being ripped off...beautiful. It all came together in a satisfying way for me.

Just 2 little things Liam. Killer Queen's explosions make no noise at all. I know in the anime they make noise, but It is for dramatic effect. And a second thing, non related to Jojo. I strongly recommend you Monster. It's a seinen though. But It is one of the best stories I have ever read/watch. And the villain It's wonderful too, we both love good villains. In Monster case, I recommend you the anime, as It's a perfect recreation of the manga, including voices, music and movement of course

Those questions concerning "Is Kira redeemable?" I find interesting, seeing as DMQ is all about "What happens to cursed souls after they die?" and him returning in Part 8 can definitely be seen as Araki saying "Yes, Kira was redeemable, he never had to go down the path of violence and destruction". Part 8 Kira is a doctor, who uses Killer Queen to save lives, and fight for justice. That's some fucking interesting character exploration.

The reason why Kira works so well is because it’s vey refreshing in the Jojo universe to see an antagonist with such little and small goals. Dio and Kars tend to want to destroy the entire the world and yes while they work in their parts, it’s really a breath of fresh air to see a very contained and calm villain. Kira is definitely the most nuanced and best written villain in the Jojo. While Kira is the best written, I really enjoy watching Dio because of other reasons that I don’t want to get into right now

Kira made me realize that JoJo has such good villains that without them the series becomes far worse. So many shonen series are god off when there isn't any villain, and most of the times it's because they're just not that interesting or even poorly written, JoJo villains are almost always amazingly written and they fit so amazingly into the plot that you like seeing them and want more of them. Sometimes I would even root for Kira to win simply because I wanted to see more of him in DiU that's how good he was

this video is a bit old but i gotta say, it's great to hear someone who shares my opinion of what makes kira such a good villain; namely, that he doesn't ACTUALLY believe that what he's doing is evil. he knows that society would _label_ it as evil, but his whole "quiet life" philosophy allows him to justify the murders he commits as "his way of dealing with society", as well as something that he was just "destined" to do. it's some of the most fascinating and realistic character writing i've ever seen, since... most people in this world who do evil aren't like dio. they're people who have tricked themselves into believing their evil actions are justified in some way. and seeing the limits of those rationalizations being tested as the part goes on, and seeing him stick to them even up to his last, desperate, pathetic moments.... it is beyond captivating. kira is one of the most human characters i've ever seen, and there's a reason why he's probably my favorite villain in all of fiction. great video :)

I know it have already been said, but just to be sure it's read: Killer Queen explosions are fully silent, even to stand users (best exemple is shigechi death, Josuke hear him call his name but doesn't hear the explosion) the anime added the sound effect as a coolness factor but yeah, killer queen primary "explosion" are fully silent and do not damage physical surrounding (exept living being ofc)

I always knew there was something that just didn’t quite click with me when it came to the earlier villains, and I think you nailed it down; they’re cartoonishly evil, evil for evils sake, have little to no constraints on their power/when and where they have the latitude to use it, and are entirely in relatable and outlandish to the audience. I agree that, despite Kira being an awful and morally detestable human being, his experiences and emotions feel familiar to the audience, and almost eerily relatable to some degree. Furthermore, despite how horrible he is, the narrative (at least in the manga) made me almost feel for him when he was in a tight spot, even though I am not supposed to. By giving us so much time to experience the story through his perspective, one which is relatively normal and human, it made me feel his fear, his distress, sitting on the edge of my seat and, as much as I didn’t wish to feel this way, hoping for him to weasel his way out of trouble, back into peaceful obscurity.

7: 30 - 8:00. I think Killer Queen is best viewed as a manifestation of Kira's desire to kill. Something violent bubbling beneath the surface that he needs to restrain, only letting it out in brief moments of cathartic murder before bringing himself under control again. You see the same sort of themes in his Kosaku theme song: 'Another face, same mind'. The song starts off quiet, proper, carefully arranged. But as it goes on, darker tones begin to build, taking over from the melody of the song, until at last it erupts into a frenetic, wild cacophony of savage sound... and then, after a few moments, it's back to normal. The mask is back on, the regular song takes over again. He's let it out and is in control again. Killer Queen is born of that side of himself, the urge that grows and grows until he can no longer contain it, so he sets a 'safe' situation up, just like Killer Queen setting a bomb, and then allows himself to explode. It's bomb power is a metaphor for his uncontrollable impulses erupting in a single destructive outburst.

Maybe because he looks the part, if one were to show that image of Stain to someone with no knowledge of the series just telling that person that it is the image of an enemy, there is a high chance they would imagine him with some or all the traits described in the video.

I would actually disagree with the idea that Kira's stand opposes his ideals. Quite the opposite, actually. It lets him get away with anything while incinerating anything that could compromise that and completely and NEATLY deleting everything. Killer Queen leaves no mess behind, thus no evidence.

Killer queen is not messy nor does it go against Kira’s personality. Yes it is an explosion but really on a deeper level it’s atomization. There is no noise unless you have a stand and no evidence is left. Therefor killer queen is perfect for him.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with this. When I first saw Part 4, I thought "he would go down hard in a fight with DIO or Kars, but he is definately a better villan."

I think Kira's death is perfect. It is so ordinary and seemingly anticlimactic, that it really sells the idea that he could be anyone. There could be a Kira living anywhere. He wanted to be unnoticed and got exactly that. Despite his acts, he died in such a "normal" way. Amazing writing.

I think dio is written off too easily. His power hungry nature transforms into a more introspective nature from part 1 to part 3. His made in heaven plan shows this, but he is also more calm and level headed in part 3

Killer queen and Kira actually match really well. Sheer heart attack is the only part of the stand that doesn’t match well with kira’s personality all of his other abilities are quiet ones

i think that kira changing koichi's socks after he thought he just killed him shows how much he doesnt like change, he just killed koichi but his socks being wrong bothered him so much that he felt the need to change the sock of a corpse

If no one knows, dead man questions is where, and I’m summarizing it, Kira gets sent to hell but comes out of hell and now is a ghost hitman, so he comes back but he forgets who he was, where he was, and how he did got where he is but only knows his name and some other details, he doesn’t have killer queen anymore too
