"This place is in hot water again" is literally "This month we're in the red again." The pun is the "in the red" section contains the word for "fire" Akaji means "in the red" and Kaji means "fire." Kajiru means to nibble/chew. So "You're in fer no treat!" was a big stretch. It says "Don't chew (on them, etc.)!" But yeah with jokes you just try to come up with a pun in English that can fit the situation. You pretty much need to come up with unique ways to write lines when translating because the aspects that give Japanese lines flavor don't really match the things you would do in English to give them flavor.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but Boonboomger isn't hitting the same like previous Reiwa Sentai. It's not bad, but to me, this might me a mid-season, not that it's a bad thing of course. Comparing it to other series, it hasn't really pulled anything out of pocket, or broke usual conventions. Let me explain. Kiramager, while the first of the Era and definitely a great introduction of what it would eventually become from a writing and visual standpoint. Zenkaiger was the first to break really Sentai conventions by changing what one would usually expect such as a nearly non-human cast, not having a Red as the team's poster leader, and having a team with highly individualistic Ranger forms that share almost nothing in common with each other. Donbrothers was also great because it was a parody of Sentai tropes in of it itself. It was the first to have a male pink ranger from the start, something that hadn't been done before excluding times when males used pink in special situations. The use of varying body types and and CGI rangers, which, while not the best looking, was a really cool effort. Also helps that they didn't use the mech much. The story is also one the best, opting to focus on it's characters. On a side note, Toshiki Inoue works better as a Sentai Writer than a Rider Writer in my opinion. Kingohger is literally one of the most unique Sentai ever, to the point that it could still work as a standalone series separate from the franchise. Unlike Kyuranger, it actually felt like a completely different planet from Earth, outside from mountain and nature sets, as well as the crossover episode. It was also the first Sentai show to have a Time Skip delineating the two halves of the show, like how a show would have two seasons after a break. In my opinion, it is the Best Reiwa season for that. Now on to Boonboomger. After catching to the latest episode, there isn't something I've seen that hasn't been done before. Red that is cool and has a mysterious backstory. Tarou, Gira, and even Kaito had this and more. Villains that serve also serve as comic relief. I like the Team Rocket Vibes (Ironic Considering the Main Writer), but is has been done several times before. A giant mech fight in nearly every episode. I liked it when they were sparingly using it in Donbrothers and Kingogher, it made them feel more special when they appeared, having it every episode, especially with Rainbow Road every time, made it stale, even when they used another attachment. I feel like they're playing too safe with this. Maybe the point was to go back to basics, and to that I can appreciate, but coming off the finale of Kingohger, Boonboomger just, doesn't hit as much as it should. I'm sorry for this overly long rant, but I've seen people glazing up this show so much, that to me feels like at worst a retread, and at best, Carranger 2.0. This isn't me saying I dislike the show, this is how I generally feel with this season. Anyways, hope your doing well!
