Just got to college, and I think this setup looks fantastic. I'm gonna need to invest in a new monitor, my old Dell monitor from 2009 really doesn't help the productivity 😂

I saw you used the monitors along with the mac and iPad for school and also photo & video editing. Just curious but what do you use for photo & video editing what are some software’s or apps you suggest for starting off? Idk if you’ll reply but would appreciate it if you did

Hey :) For photo and video editing, I mainly use Final Cut Pro, After Effects and Photoshop. I’d suggest starting with Final Cut and Photoshop as After Effects can be pretty confusing for beginners.

Hi, I’m glad you liked the video :). I get my assets from a handful of places, but the ones on this video are mainly from Envato and Ezra cohen. I do edit in Final Cut but I branch into After Effects every now and then.

Setup is looking damn clean man! Do you have the 8GB or 16GB Macbook Pro?
@damiadeniji2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I’m using the 16gb version. Personally, I don’t think 8gb is enough in 2022.

you have the speakers too close to the wall. If they sound amazing now, try moving them 3-5 ft away from the wall and you will be blown away.
@damiadeniji2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for letting me know :) I can't really do this right now as my desk is a bit too small but I will definitely try it in the future if I get a bigger desk.

@@damiadeniji i didnt know either but i have the same speakers and i found a couple of audiophiles on tube tha brought it to my attention. Have a nice day man.

@@damiadeniji I know space is tight, but if you can pull the whole desk away from the wall even an inch or two you'll get a benefit. Additionally, get some little stands for the speakers so they are close in height to your ears. Even just a bunch of books will work. Having the speakers on the table surface is not ideal. Raising them up to eye/ear level will also mean you can monitor at lower levels as you'll be hearing more detail.

Thanks for the recommendation. I'd love to move my desk to improve sound quality but I can't really do that cuz of cable management and space reasons. I will take this into account whenever I move out tho. I do also hope to get some speaker stands in the future so that I can get more out of the speakers.

That's a great small setup! Are you sure you like the xiaomi monitor? 😂 I was thinking of buying it until i went to the store to see it in person. For me the colors of the VA panel looked awful and the curvature didn't look as good as LG ultrawides. Also the lack of a type-c port was a bummer. I ended up getting the LG 34WN80C and i can tell you it's the best 700$ i've spent LOL. Good choice on the Eris monitors tho, i've heard great things about them from producer friends. Also a great choice was the M1 MBP you got! I switched from a ryzen 9 3900x pc to the M1 Macbook Air and i wouldn't go back to a windows pc ever again in my life! I've been running MacOS on that pc for a short period of time until i got really fed up with not having my motherboard's built in wifi and bluetooth working on it since the kext drivers for the chipset straight up didn't exist (not very lucky there). It's really amazing to have your work on the go with a macbook so you can go and make music in your yard or in the library as you mentioned (the best place to make music lol). As a fellow producer i really appreciate your setup! Good job!

Hey, Thanks for the feedback :) I bought the monitor almost two years ago, and at the time I had a pretty tight budget so I just went with the Xiaomi Monitor. I did have to calibrate the monitor a bit since it was initially pretty washed out, but once I did, it looked great. The MacBook is definitely worth every penny,. However, I do miss gaming every now and then.

@@damiadeniji Oh man, the gaming. I fixed up the computer i had before i got the mac, to sell it, and i installed forza to play one last time. I got bored of it in less than 10 minutes and i uninstalled it. I don't miss it at all! I used to be playing for many hours like 10 months ago with a friend so i got extremely tired of it now. If i ever want to play some games to chill out (not really since i've been struggling with toxic productivity lately :/ ) i have my good old psp and my gameboy advance sp that my friend from above got me for my birthday last year! I believe that's the best way to game honestly. I've sold all my old gaming consoles (except the first one i got which was an xbox 360) and only have those 2 handhelds that i play extremely rarely.

Yh, I rarely ever game nowadays as well. I dabbled in Hollow Knight for a bit, but I’m so busy nowadays. It’s a lot harder to sit down and game like I used to.
