There is an ergonomic advantage to not having a Numpad on the right, between the alpha keys and your mouse pad (i.e. not directly in front of you), because typing on the alphas in that situation means your body turns left ever so slightly, and that might lead to back pain over a long period of time. It did for me. Although not exercising or stretching might be the bigger cause of that back pain :)
