After you explore the cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen, you should go west, as far as you can. To Xinjiang, Gansu, Qinghai, Tibet, Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, etc. Btw don't forget Nanjing in Jiangsu Province lol. These are the names of cities&provinces, but also there're lots of places of interests such as the Dunhuang Caves, Zhangjiajie etc.

It's not the real China, but really is in the actual real country of China. This is not typical Chinese scene nor lifestyle, but is a sort of traditional cultural revival like seen in many tourist areas anywhere you go. The real China is dirty, difficult, and dangerous with masses of people kept in the grind of chasing peanut wages for survival and not all gussied up for a cell phone fashion show photo shoot among gorgeous pink flower trees. lol

Some of the youtubers/commenters here are really pathetic. This is a travel video of an individual. If you guys want to discuss politics, go some other sites like maybe Serpentza or other commentary news like Fox news and do all your China and USA bashing there. There are appropriate channels for your grievances and prejudices and you can have a really good time there venting all out. Lol

What Poppy and Jordan show is that it's possible to separate politics from culture and the people who live it in these sweet little towns, and that goes not just for China but for Egypt, South Korea and all the other places that P&J have traveled. You can say whatever you want about Chinese politics but you can't say that Kunming isn't beautiful. Thanks Poppy and Jordan for showing that culture and people are beautiful and amazing everywhere. Sadly, because of politics many people are never going to think of seeing these gorgeous places and meeting the wonderful people who make it their home.

So glad you girls ended up there to my hometown! I was born and live there until 18 when I left for Uni and work. This is another great video. Just a little bit more details about the birds for those who are interested. The seagulls used to travel to Indian Ocean for winter from Siberia, for centres, I guess. In 1985, a few hundred of them got lost because of wind and they somehow made it to Kunming instead. They must be surprised to find out that this place had such a pleasant weather, and was as good as, if not better than, Indian Ocean. There was a huge lake (Dian Lake), there was even a lake in the heart of the city (Green Lake where you visited), so there are plenty of food. And the people here seemed quite kind as well. Bear in mind, Kunming is 630 km away from closes beach and nearly 1900 metres above sea level. Many people here had never seen a sea in person all their life but now they had seagulls flying around them! They just treated these birds like their treasures. For the birds, it's a perfect alternative to Indian Ocean, with only half the trip to fly for! In the next year, more sea gulls came. The following year, even more... Eventually, approx. 40 thousand seagulls come from Siberia every year to this inland city on a plateau. Amazing! Don't you think so?

Jordan & Poppy trips in China are always during my brunch break every day. It is good that an American girl, Jordan likes China - Thank you so much! Nowadays, Kunming has been transforming into one of the beautiful cities of China, similar to my birthplace Guilin ...... I was supervising a canvas shoe factory over 30-yrs-ago with 2-3 visits every year. I could only have the weekends (not many) to do sightseeing - seeing the Stone Forest, 1,000+ Buddhist temple, & a few more - but did not visit this Great Lake where all the seagulls from Siberia come during their winter months - a fascinating sight from Jordan's video. Kunming was the city in 1945 when my Mom had taken me (a baby from Guilin) to take a flight which was organized by my medical father in Hong Kong (HK) to join him. Since he was assisting the Red Cross in Guilin, a military plane flew him back to HK (only him without his family). THEREFORE, KUNMING IS ALSO ONE OF MY FAVORITE CITIES IN CHINA!

I love Kunming & the Yunnan province for the weather & vegetable - the temperature is so cool to wear a suit in walking around & the vegetable are so plentiful for a Vegetarian like me (40 years now). Besides, our Thai root is down South where they speak Thai but not read or write (our first King Ramkamhang invented the Thai language) I was down there to talk with the Buddhist monks in Thai. The Siamese (now Thai) migrated down to this present ' Golden Land ' when they were in Guangxi province over 1,000-yrs-ago - at that time the Chinese Emperor did not like Ethnic people. NOW CHINESE, SIAMESE or THAI ARE CLOSE KNITTED-FAMILY!

13:35 ~ pushing her into the adult end of the swimming pool? ~ When Fighting Debts, Peddle yourself. Whatever that means. ~ I'm {vulnerable} and need your help, except, something that appeals to a growing audience or sponsors? even the very best of women, seem to let men loiter, and the very best never offer or affirm or validate any supplications from men pursuing.

Australians are generally really nice people. Majority are always kind to strangers and foreigners even if they don't know them. Just a few are racist, ignore them :)

You should visit Hunan province and go to zangziajie national park ( maybe spelt a little incorrect) where the scenery is like from the movie Avatar and is amazing.

7:00 That's Majiang, on which game master Ping's grandfather won that tiny noddle restaurant. He explained that in the first Kungfu Panda movie. I won't recommend you to join them, cause Majiang can have very complicated rules. Actually different cities would have different rules and it might take you hours to start getting it so you'll have less time enjoying the scene. My relatives love to play majiang during festival holidays but I was always like standing around and can't join them and end up turning to my phone games.

I’m from Kunming. The green lake park is where we hang out and It used to be free. I heard it was because too many hobos regard it home but refuse to go shelters, they set a ticket in a very low rate to avoid sleeping in the park. 😂😂😂

I was born and have lived in Kunming for the first 18-year of my life. Sometimes it is kinda annoying being a local there because of bad traffic, conservative ppl, etc. But I do wish visitors could obtain a positive impression of Kunming. And maybe it will fit my expectations someday.

Our house was once raided by racoons through the cat door. They trashed our kitchen, the cat food were lying everywhere. It was like a thief has come in, but instead of looking for money, they looked for cat food!!
