I was a Beach Lifeguard up at Aliso and West Street for 3 summers! I have sat in that spot where you were at San Clemente Pier Beach many times.. My Friend worked at Fishermans in High School. Brings back great memories.

The ending was your best ever. The scenes and your words made this old man tear up. I couldn't agree more that kids bring it all back home when we get jaded by the world. I remember when my kids were that age, and we did a lot of traveling and had many moments just like what you filmed. Your kids are adorable. Your little girl talking about the sun sinking was precious. You do a great balance of showing your family and still showing us the world. You deliver the whole package we can all relate to. Wonderful video which brought back a lot of great memories! I grew up in Mission Viejo in the late '60's & '70's. The trip to Laguna Beach was a lot closer to us, but my mom almost always took us to the Beach in San Clemente (State Beach at the end of Avenida Califia). We enjoyed the sand, the water and waves, and even the trains (mainly freight trains back then). We could walk down the beach and see Nixon's place up on the cliff. Years later, I asked my mom why she made the longer drive to San Clemente instead of Laguna Beach. Her answer was perfectly practical - it was easier to find a parking place there!

Great video. My sister and I grew up going to the beach in San Clemente every summer. We had a blast boogie boarding back then. As adults my sister and our friends rented a beach house every summer for several years. Always a fun time. And when I had kids we took them there quiet a bit. Always wanted to eat at that Fisherman's Restaurant but never got the chance. I really miss it there. Currently live in Vegas so haven't been there for a long time. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience. Looks like you all had a great time.

The Pedro's in south San Clemente was my stop for a bean and cheese burrito with extra cheese every Saturday morning on my way to 4 Doors at San Onofre for a morning surf session. The burrito was still warm after a 2 hour session on the waves and an excellent way to fuel up and warm up

I was born there in San Clemente but grew up mostly in Oceanside, I don’t miss Oceanside but I do miss San Clemente! Pizza Port is definitely a must. There’s an another restaurant there called Hapa J’s that I highly recommend. Definitely try their chili, it’s made with Primo Lager and is sooo good!

the chill side of OC! also recommend cars and coffee at the san clemente outlets saturdays and recommend SlapFish as a eatery. The biking trails around the ocean is also great
