Love the facility. On top of Porsche owners (regardless of powertrain for the vehicle), please consider admission of Porsche Club Test Drive members who are future or aspirational customers. As a Porsche customer I would love to see this in the San Francisco Bay Area. I just returned from Germany and the charging infrastructure was truly amazing. Although as a non IONITY member I was paying about 70 cents per Kilowatt! That was the only negative

@@harmony3138And that’s exactly why I hate Ionity. They make it so incredibly complicated to just charge your car. I want to be able to pull up at the charger, tap a charging card or, even better, a credit card (or nothing at all), and charge. Subscriptions and non-transparent pricing makes a lot of charging networks so unattractive.

Brand specific charging is a terrible idea at scale. Having a handful of experiences like this I think is great. I think it would be easy for them to place, just look where the owners live and put one there. I don't think this setup is that crazy, its designed in shape like a standard gas station but it's all premium. They could do this but not as premium. I really like the forced queue line around the back, that could save a lot of headaches.

For the US I could imagine a network of members-only charging stations set up along the model of upscale airport lounges such as the Delta Sky Club. EV car owners could buy annual memberships in such a club to make long distance travel more comfortable and luxurious. These clubs would accommodate any EV but would guarantee fast charging, maintained chargers, and some amenities such as free coffee, clean restrooms, etc. People who are on the road all the time as part of their job would pay extra for this. The cost of the kWh might even be discounted a little.

The analogy that comes to mind, somewhat, are the private airport lounges that provide a better-quality travel experience, particularly if you have a significant layover. I travel heavily on American and use the Admiral's club frequently. It's a good idea and the trick is to remember there needs to be some degree of exclusivity along with a salient reason for membership, whether it be ownership of a specific brand, or, a preferred service (like an airline). Diluting the exclusivity factor is a tricky road and might work against it. Again, using the Admiral's club as an analogy, American has been marketing membership heavily and the result, I'm noticing, are increasingly crowded lounges. That a possibility that works against it. A Porsche-only lounge makes sense, in select areas. A lounge allowing other brands would be a different experience.

In the U.S., the obvious target sites would be along major travel corridors. Between Vegas and SoCal, SoCal and NorCal, somewhere along the garden state parkway in NJ for the summer beach travel, on the I-95 in South Jersey or DE for the NYC to DC corridor, etc, in Kingman, AZ etc.

We need one of these on Long Island (Nassau County), so everyone headed out to Hamptons / Montauk / North Fork from Manhattan (or anywhere else, since they have to pass through Nassau County) have a place to charge to and from.

This was very cool😁Great content, this sets the example of what can be! Love it! Eventually all charging stations will be more like convenience stores, offsets the income to allow for less profit needed on electricity. Gas stations only Make pennies on a gallon of gas, money is made on convenience items instead. Soda, coffee, snacks. Can’t wait to see one on every corner, it’s coming!

So almost all the profit on gas goes to the gas company.

Thats amazing. This is what NIO is doing with its Swap Stations (just without the lounge, as it is too fast) and their NIO House. Great that more companies do it.

At an energy exhibition I could have a glance at the inside of an alpitronic charger from both sides. It is not only clean outside but als inside with many modules that can be slide in and out. So exchanging pieces or updating components is easily possible.

This reminds me of the Tesla Kettleman City SuperCharger stop in California. I really like that gift shop and work area in there. Hope many more chargers utilize that concept.

One suggestion for Chris regarding the panic button that calls the police. They should consider putting a notice in English also, for non-German travelers. I think that would be very helpful.

I think brand specific chargers are a waste of resources but I get why people would like them. However can you imagine if all manufacturers went down this route?

In the overall situation of pretending that EVs are somehow going to save the planet I think it's true this is a waste of resources . The wealthy only having exclusive rights to EV functionality is not only NOT going to save the world, it's going to make the rest of us feel excluded and angry

For your question about specific chargers for each brand, I think that way will be just a waste of ressources to only offering to Porsche owner but why not I guess. My opinion! Great content as always, When I see you on that autobahn with that smile, I said this is all about!!

Awesome charging lounge. Since it’s so expensive, Porsche should consider a joint venture with Daimler to share the expense. Customers of both brands need this premium charging experience. I would pay extra for it.

As car manufacturers shift to direct sales, all dealerships can become the place where you receive your ordered vehicle; get to test drive vehicles, get service repairs, post purchase vehicle options installed, interior/exterior detailing, premium body wraps, merch purchases and of course super charging from "company branded charging stations". While charging your vehicle, you can rest in the lounge; get a bite to eat, buy some company merch or even test drive vehicles they have on the lot. Dealerships don't have to die. They just have to evolve.

Dear Tesla: You NEED to open up your network and bail out everyone who didn’t invest in DC fast charging infrastructure NOW!!! 😡 Dear Porsche: You should to keep this exclusive for customers only 🤗 Love the dichotomy.
