A prep school has trouble with a student.
THE PERFECT GOOSEYS is used with permission from Andrew Mudge. Learn more at blackkettlefilms.com.
George attends the competitive private school Auburn Academy, where he struggles to keep up with the other students. Auburn is a harsh, even cruel, place, full of overachievers who are often mean to the boy -- if they aren't completely ignoring him. It doesn't help that his dad is the school's janitor, either, who picks up his son in a rickety old car every day.
But George's dad decides to stand up for his kid, showing just how far a parent will go to love and support their child -- even if it means possible further humiliation.
Director Andrew Mudge has crafted a sweet, delightful dramedy full of genuine heart and compassion. Its charming quirks -- minimal dialogue for the main characters, soaring score and meticulous and witty production design -- never overwhelm the film.
THE PERFECT GOOSEYS wears its sincerity and emotion proudly, earning every second of its touching finale -- and reminding us what really matters when it comes to what teach our families.

The disturbing thing is that those parents did nothing about their children's behaviour. Edit - The teachers too. Also I know this is not real, I'm saying theoretically if this were to happen (which it could, bullying goes on a lot nowadays). And I know the parents (even teachers) probably brought the kids up this way because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but it is still disturbing either way.

The psychological abuse of children often starts in schools, where the ones with the lowest results are displayed by teachers and professors as a bad example to the schoolmates. As a result, children grow up with similar judgements toward the other children, and they start to discriminate based on criteria that have been taught to them.

My daughter, was bullied all her life at school, we tried everything, but the last straw was when a teacher supported her own daughter in the bullying as well. I ripped my daughter out of school permanently, and with my wife, we left on a world tour, for the next 4 years. We we came home, she was a different girl. Most of here school "mates" ??? , didn't amount to much, But my daughter at 23 became the CEO off her own multi million dollar company, and she started with a $1000. I am so proud of her and we get to see our grandchildren as much as we can. Her children don't bully and she will not allow her children to be bullied. Don't allow your children to bully other kids, Their outcome may end up being not worth much at all.

@daniellamcgee4251
@daniellamcgee4251 3 жыл бұрын
Not the whole world. There are literally billions of people who haven't met you, and you haven't met them. It sounds like you are in a small bubble world where people lack the capacity to value what you have to offer. But one day, either someone will enter your bubble, or you will leave your bubble to have new life experiences. You will find your own place in the world and find your own kin - people who feel more like family than your relatives. Few of us are fortunate enough to feel a sense of belonging with the people we began life with. Part of the joy of life is finding who we naturally click with. It usually takes time. Especially for more unique types of personalities. Sometimes these people we click with are in our lives briefly, and sometimes they are friends for life. You are not alone in that so many people are like you in having a more reserved nature, and feel socially isolated. Many have parents who seem to love conditionally, based on achievement. It is actually a form of loving care for you. It sounds like your parents want you to do well in life for your own future comfort and stability. Maybe they want you to have things, or opportunities they didn't have. But I understand that you need unconditional love, as all healthy people do. It is rare that family members and friends can give us what we need, because it's like we are all a mis-match of shapes trying to fit our needs, wants, personalities and lives together. We need people of all different personality types in the world to contribute something unique because societies are complex. We all have our part to play in the history of humanity. One tiny act you do can have a positive ripple effect on many people you will never meet. And one day you will find people you feel at home with. Be patient. Those who are popular and seemingly successful in adolescence don't usually fit in so well in adulthood. They have qualities that best fit adolescent life, but not so much adult life. There are have been psychology studies about this, tracking students' lives over time. This is their golden time of life. Your golden time is yet to come! 💜

This made me cry! What a great short film. Perfect direction, perfect music, great acting. It was really amazing to see the father and the mother supported their son. Even if he wasn’t good at studies, maybe because he got bullied, the parents believed in their son. The ending was fantastic. Everyone bullies Goosey and he runs towards his father and hugs him. That was the best scene. The film has a lesson for parents to always support their children. They should be proud of their children and not only their achievements. The film also has a lesson for the kids who get bullied, to not to lose self confidence. They should always believe in themselves. Not everyone is good at everything. Also the teachers should make sure no one gets bullied at their school, college or any other institution. Rating - 10/10.

@daniellamcgee4251
@daniellamcgee4251 3 жыл бұрын
@@peggyfranzen6159 I might be taking you too literally, but telling your child they're a genius is not an act of love. It is dishonest and nothing positive can come of it. 1. Either the child will think their parents really do believe they are a genius, but will carry the stress and shame knowing that they aren't and will eventually fail their parents. The fear of rejection, I know for some, is a looming dread. 2. They will grow up having delusions about their own abilities and one day fall hard. (E.g. look at all the singers who suffer cruel reality on T.V. for viewers entertainment, when they are told the truth for the first time). Their self esteem, based on a lie, will be the foundation collapsing under them. They will realize that their parents lied, and never be able to fully trust their parents again. This can happen to a lesser, or majorly catastrophic effect. 3. They remain delusional and quite possibly narcissistic, entitled, and lacking in appreciation of others. When the world isn't meeting their reality, they will feel the world is unfairly prosecuting them. 4. With so many children falsely labeled 'genius' the extremely rare genuine budding geniuses, and their parents, are not believed. It can become a nightmare for both child and parents who don't receive the understanding and support those high needs children require by schools, family, friends etc. to thrive. Because 'every parent thinks their child is a genius, and what you are describing is so extreme you are just attention seeking, and want to believe your child is the best.' I may have gone into this deeper than you were meaning, but it is a societal problem. Especially in the USA. I just felt the need to clarify that there is a big difference between raising a child with a sense of self worth based on their genuine qualities, such as, maybe, being 'good at huggs', and false over- praise, such as calling them a genius in all seriousness, if the odds are that they really aren't. It is too serious a topic, as I see it, for me to walk on by. I believe it's better to teach children we all have value.

Ouch. That was a vivid representation of class hate, and very accurate. I have experienced it on both sides, as someone hated and as someone accepted into the circle. It was just that brutal. I hope this educates the "priviledged" and gives courage to the rest. There is no elite. There is only a misguided few who live in luxury from the suffering of many.

10:05 - to me, this part hit me very hard. when the teacher goes to the head of the school to tell him who goosey is, you think for a split second that the teachers or headmaster will try to comfort him or stop the bullying, but instead the headmaster just joins in with the kids, acting like a sophisticated jerk. it shows how cruel these people and the children really are to the gooseys and maybe even everyone else in the world.
