@@Bruce_Mazi actually they are 100hz because every manufacturer already starts stepping up from 75hz since like, 2023. Asus, Acer, Msi, Gigabyte, Philips, ViewSonic, etc has upped all their base model from 75hz to 100hz, if you see 75hz on the market those are old unsold stock models.

This issue is significantly improved in recent versions of MacOS. Scaling performance and quality have improved hugely, I’m now using 3x 27” 4K monitors from LG and they look equally good on both MacOS and Windows.

Color matched plastic? Also brightness changing with extra software is not native. LG Ultrasharp have native support. But BenQ does this most likely done via the DDC standard. There’s this program called MonitorControl that can do it for most displays.

120hz at 4K Retina (which is basicaly an 8K) you would need a bandwith of 119 Gbps, which is well above the limit of Thunderbolt 4. Now that Thunderbolt 5 exists and is implemented on the Macs, you have exactly 120gbps max bandwith, which might (just might), give us Apple ProMotion in desktop Retina displays 🎉

According to the specs online. It’s lower nits of brightness and the apple display is much higher quality panel and has a chip that integrates into macs much more tightly. And even on your video you can see there’s some latency. Not a huge amount but enough it would drive me potty!

You can enable display scaling in macOS and windows. You’ll have fractional scaling with 4k scaled to 1440p (quarter of 5k). While I’ve used 27” 4k with macOS, it’s definitely not as sharp as integer scaling like my 5k studio display.

For 2x integer scaling like on the 23.5” iMacs, the resolution is 4480x2520 with a ppi of 219. If you want the same pixel density, you can go with the 21.5” LG UltraFine (4096x2304, with a ppi of 219). The 24” LG UltraFine 4k is lower resolution and pixel-dense (3840x2160, with a ppi of 183)
