1Year Later Correction: Something many, many people in the fandom misinterpreted (myself included) is the Louis/Subaru thing. It's not Louis that was wandering around the tower, that was in fact Subaru with his memories trapped in the Hall of Memories. A lot of people have been going through my Arc 6 videos again recently, and I wanted to put out this correction for people watching in the future. Louis was simply inside of Subaru was a Witch Factor as he went along his journey, attempting to break him and turn him into two separate people.

Oh I thought it was Louis having eaten his memories, but he was the dominant personality and was wandering around as Subaru as Louis (like a Roy Reid situation), as she had attempted to become Subaru. Hence the occasional loss of control of his body with Louis trying to say they were Natsuki Subaru. Also, why they wanted to separate the existence of the two, so Louis in the hall could eat them again and also have Subaru unable to be the dominant personality. And the real Subaru was in the hall of memories, so once Subaru remembered everything he rejoined with his own body and Subaru expelled Louis from his. Louis with the memories of being Subaru versus Louis who had just wanted to consume Subaru over and over again. Well, maybe the anime adaptation will explain it better lol

Subaru had the gluttony witch factor when he entered the cave and smelled the witch factor. Pretty sure gluttony factor allows you to smell the witch miasma as a sweet smell since witch of gluttony did say Subaru smelled delicious.

Haven't found anything that really indicates Louis was controlling Subaru after reading arc 6, I am very confused as to how this take came to be. She was just a witch factor inside him, there's no way Louis would ever handle being Subaru.

@@catsukisubaru3715 thats ability of gluttony called solar-eclipse were person becames that person, so Subaru wasnt possesed, that was Louis whole time, it is kind of confusing, because its still Subaru but not really, real Subaru is stuck in old Lagna, interesting thing about real one is that he never lost his memoris even thou his name was eaten, but when Louis transforms into him, only memoris of this world were eaten, i find this super weird and confusing, maybe i dont fuly get it as well

@@cynx1321 well its easy. louis was possessing subaru, but she had almost no control because of subaru amazing willpower. so she could only poison his thinking. subaru did not lost his memory, louis was interfering with his memory from the inside. when subaru relearned his past he had alast push and ejected her. in all of this she did manage to emerge 2 times for a few minutes.

you know whats crazy is some people dont like subaru losing his memories because they think it ruins the pacing. i remember a lot people in the community trying to criticize it because of that, even Ice (i love him tho hes so important to the community). But you brought it up very well. Him losing his memories is so integral to the themes of this arc. About identity and such. Its damn near necessary and adds another interesting layer onto whats going on. Even tho Re Zero does have retarded anime shit here and there, Tappei never goes into a truly degenerate path with it. Yea characters are introduced as a “harem” for Subaru seemingly but its completely subverted from how you think. Its not like other anime thats self aware where they say “haha anime does this, this is so dumb, but we’re still doing it”. Re Zero never commits into it, its tropes to attract typical anime fans but betray their expectations. Its smart from Tappei, because he understands the anime community very well. He doesn’t want to just tell a good, but different story. He wants people to be invested, even ones who normally dont like stories with protags like subaru

What do you think about similarities in Ram's and Sekhmet's backstories? They both from a non-human villages, Ram - oni, Sekhmet - giants. Both were expected to be a god of a oni/giants, elders completed rituals to make it happen, but in the result both were born incomplete: Ram without a second horn/Sekhmet to small to be a giant. Still they both strongest characters in the entire series.

Well, Arc 7 might not live up to the expectations because it has been the most controversial arc so far. Without spoiling much, I have to say that its events are all over the place.

Arc 7 has been a mixed bag for me. **spoilers** The start is so intruiging and i loved it, im all for the change of making subaru alone, but it feels incredibly rushed, like - the entirety of arcs before took place in a single area, but 7 is a whole country so it cant take time to fully flesh out areas. But the main problem that everyone can agree with is the amount of fake outs. You now know that - if subaru isnt around, people arent allowed to die, because subaru wouldnt be able to save them. So rather than creating tension, by having it so that without subaru around, nobody is there to save them so they die, people have been written out of being able to die - giving them plot armour to stop them. I can accept more important chatacters like flop having a fake out, but the gladiator island? I hardly feel like anybody there really matters, so if everybody there had died, it would have given subaru another reason to head to the capital to kill todd for revenge.
