Maybe it's just me, but this season's pacing has been ridiculously fast. The dialogue sometimes felt like some kind of fast-talking competition rather than a conversation. Some events as well where they just skipped everything as if trying to get to the "good" part asap, essentially killing all tension and outright removing scenes entirely. I think a few more episodes would've done the trick, maybe two more to flesh out and add some important cut content. Hopefully this doesn't happen with arc 6, as it is an arc that heavily relies on dialogue.

Why does the author hate Crusch so much bro. I understand she isn't Al's gal, but stealing her memories & now crippling her & scarring her body completly seems a bit excessive. Liked the episode overall, but I was a bit disappointed we lost the drama over the tome. Not sure why exactly, but I guess it reminded us the Tome is dangerous? The cut saved time and got us to the same end result, so whatevs.

Watching these Videos made me think about that Flugel has definitely a connection to Stella and the other witches and we know he comes from our/Subaru's World, meaning he could be the one to form the Witch Cult, not to bring the Witches back, but to stop just that, like Beetlejuice was also a Witch Cultist before he became Insane to my memory and he had no interest in reviving The Witch of Envy. Or I am just insane and or this is already something confirmed or denied.

My list of predictions, as an anime only. Garf and Will can clear the two cultists because story arc powers, but it's gonna be brutal, and there's no way they can run the full gauntlet and clear lust. Subaru and Reinhardt are probably gonna wipe greeds stain off the church floor, but that fight might get crazy with the collateral damage. No rbd required, I think Subaru has the character development to put greed in his place from a narrative perspective. Priscilla and the Ukulele apology video girl will be able to deal with wrath, that seems somewhat settled. The problem is gluttony. I'm sure the team of Ricardo and Otto hits higher than it sounds like it would, but they're still gonna have a problem with gluttony. Not sure how they'll clear that, but then again, Otto punches way above his skill class. Then there's the other gluttony. I'm expecting the second gluttony to show up and break apart their pleasant roflstomp of the witches cult that's about to play out. Notably, disrupting city hall. I expect Crusch, partially healed by Subaru, is gonna come in clutch by getting up and swinging at a crucial moment. Basically, Cour 2 will start out on a positive note, an absolute beat down of the witches cult, and then, at the end of a long first episode of Cour 2, the rugs gonna get pulled out from under us, and Subaru is gonna hit his first game over in awhile. I'm really worried about Subarus name. Rem name dropped Subaru in front of Gluttony way back after the whale. Now, Subaru dropped his name to the whole city after Al warned him not to. Narratively, this would be a really perfect moment to bring Rem back by killing one of the gluttonys, while at the same time, erasing Subaru (like Crusch) with the other. We see how Subarus reputation has exploded well beyond his control. He's a bonafide hero whose deeds have become well known across the lands. Resetting Subaru to base and forcing him to deal with the legacy Natsuki Subaru has made so far would be an interesting direction. Otherwise, Subaru's character is about to plateau. He's already emanating supercritical levels of Chad particles. Plus, if it went this direction, it would be a great way to force him to deal with one more hang up he seems to have, his ability to recognize himself as the hero everybody else sees him as. Bro does not have the self esteem you'd expect of the man who killed a Sin Archbishop and Two of the worlds great Mabeasts. Idk, just my thoughts, that's how id smash these action figures together. If you've read my ted talk this far, do you have thoughts? Opinions? Am I cooking something special, or am I tossing a salad in the microwave?

I thought this core was pretty good! I started reading the LNs around episode 6 since I was really getting hooked on the tension. I tried reading the LNs before with EX1 but I kinda dropped it a quarter of the way through and went back to doing a re-read of Apothecary diaries, but the tension build up of arc 5 finally got me to fully bite the bullet and full on start reading the novels (currently almost finished with vol 25). I think the anime has done a pretty good way of consolidating information across scenes so the repetition of information that gets thrown around in arc 5 is mitigated quite a bit, but yeah I also understand novel readers' frustrations with how many small nuances get lost in the transition.
