Just letting you know that I think a ton of people’s complaints about arc 7 are completely unfounded (with a few understandable nitpicks that are fairly central to the story). I think this is mainly because people are reading Re zero just as chapters are being released for the first time. One of the most common complaints I’ve seen about arc 7 is it’s slow pacing which is a completely ridiculous complaint considering that arc 7 is by far the fastest paced arc in the series (you can probably tell just from phase 1). They’re also judging an incomplete story. While arc 6 was the current arc that was still releasing you won’t believe how many people hated the arc for amnesia Subaru. Of course now that arc 6 is done, we know what Tappei was trying to accomplish with that plot line and arc 6 is one of the most beloved arcs as a result. I can easily see arc 7 following a similar trajectory where it’ll be far more popular once it’s not the current arc anymore and Tappei has gotten to tell the full story with it that he wants

Man, all the arguments aside. Im simply so tired of the "arc 6 was also disliked as much", no it was not. its genuinely not fucking true. I ve been there when arc 6 wasnt even half translated and you couldnt physically read the story because the chapters were translated in random order with huge gaps. People didnt hate on arc 6 even slightly as much as they do now on arc 7. At the very least arc 6 had only one big thing that seperated community whether its good or not. It’s interesting since I was also around at that time and I still stand by what I said. We might’ve been in different parts of the community idk. Community opinion can be a tough thing to measure from a single perspective, but I do agree that it wasn’t as bad as some of the complaints I always hear about arc 7

I agree, these people are new to the whole waiting for the next chapter thing and are thus annoyed by it, and for some reason can not see that, that is not the stories fault. I mean I think a lot more people started reading the web novel after season 2 ended, and that was around the start of arc 7 if I remember correctly, so the timing would match up. I think we can see something similar with arc 3 in the anime because I think a lot of people hated it, myself included, as it was coming out, because I just wanted things to go back to the status qoue, but it wasn't until it was completely finished and I moved on to arc 4 did I realize how amazing it was for changing everything and sending the story into a new direction.

@@VJ-Vice well I just think the community has changed a lot between arc 6 and arc 7. I think once season 2 ended a lot more people started reading the web novels, and this was right around when arc 7 began. So, these people would have read all arc 5 and 6 super quickly, but would get to arc 7 and have to wait for each chapter to release. Without a doubt this would give those people a different reading experience.

What I especially like its how linked together these past three arcs are. The consequences of the chaos at Pristella lead into why they went to the Watchtower and the consequences of what happened there has put Subaru in Vollachia. I can't wait for the ramifications of this arc in particular on the world at large and people's opinions of Subaru and his camp

Besides arc 4, the start for arc 7 has to be one of if not the best start for any arc in Re:Zero. Have to thank Tappei for making Phase 1 really enjoyable

Curious to see your thoughts on this,especially since when you said in arc 6 video we longer tread the same grounds,which i agree. You might have heard few people think this arc 7 is bad(although by RZ standards even bad is great),which i don't get personally most of them seem nitpicky at best and the other one the arc not being as emotional,i mean it came after arc 6 and arc 7 brings different kind of hype imo. There are some legit criticism but those are fine and are kinda unavoidable given the scope of this arc and what its trying to do,sometimes i feel like RZ coomunity is pretty spoiled. Regardless Curious to hear your fresh point of view as i know you don't let others influence you that much or at all.

Todd is one of my favorite villains so far. He is a guy who was sent to the middle of nowhere for who knows how long to risk his own life. Thrown into this situation he throws away his morals for the sake of survival and being able to return home. He also shows great instincts and intelligence, as he instantly abandoned his plan to get information out of Subaru in loop 2 as soon as he saw his face.

Fair warning. Arc 7 is far from bad. But what it is, is immensely different from the previous arcs so I would recommend walking into this arc with a open mind about how alot of it's direction will go
