Hi Gabo, what about breathing? Breathe in when going down? Breathe out when going up?

Professional athletes have already established a strong scapula depression for so many years when doing pullups. Hence, they can get away with not depressing their scapula once or twice while lifting heavy weight during competition. Beginner however need to set themselves up the right away. I always train my clients on hanging to strength their grip, followed by scapula pullups. I want the foundation to be right. Then I go with scapula pullups along with arm external rotation. Then, it is followed by core activation to avoid energy leaks. Yes, doing these is hard and takes time, but the aim is not to do pullups as fast as you can but rather as safe as you can. Results follow the correct foundations and stays long after
@SaturnoMovementКүн бұрын
Rows, passive and active hangs…then we can think of negatives, too holds ect. Agree with you. A solid foundation is key. Thanks for commenting! -Gabo

Thanks so much for the helpfull information.....how many pull ups with full range of motion are you able to do? Best wishes from germany cheers Tom ✌️
@gabosaturno2458Күн бұрын
Depends on what you mean by full range :) chin over bar probably 20+ but haven’t tested. -Gabo

@@gabosaturno2458 gabo you are amazing....i do 6-7 with full range of motion. Yes chin over the bar. My weight is 86-88 kg and i am 1.83m tall

Thanks for the video. Besides rows and hangs, any other suggestions on routine to build strength? 👽
@SaturnoMovementКүн бұрын
Rows, passive hangs and scapula pulls to start. Get very good there. Then start working on negatives, top holds, and bands while keeping your rows and hanging. Get to your first chin up and build up from there. -Gabo

How about behind neck pull ups?
@SK1LAHКүн бұрын
Gabo, what you think about pyramid (up,down,up,down and set till failure) with 1 minute rest to improve endurance? Im doing this once a week and weighted once a week.
@SaturnoMovementКүн бұрын
You mean like a ladder? How many reps you have? How many reps you want to increase? - regardless one day of high reps and one day weighted is a great way to increase numbers. Can’t see why that wouldn’t work unless there is something else that needs to be addressed. -Gabo
@SK1LAH21 сағат бұрын
@SaturnoMovement yes, i mean ladders (1,2 etc till failure, then down, repeat twice and after i do one set until failure). Im on around 140 reps now (doing this type of ladders), my normal chest to bar pullups record is 17 reps (1 Rep in reserve) and weighted im on 5x5 24 kg (chin above bar), i tried 1 rep max and did 3x 34kg (because i didnt had more weights to use).

They did fitnessfaqs dirty with this one 😂
@SaturnoMovementКүн бұрын
If you mean because he made a video with this title or similar: 1. Fitness faqs have been doing content for 10+ years. Of course he has a video on pull up technique -several actually. 2. I technically did dirty to most calisthenics creators then -including us that we did a short of “perfect pull up” about 4 years ago. And if you mean that on some of his videos he teach it differently or it’s controversial: we all have different opinions. Nothing but love to Daniel 💙 and I am sure he will appreciate this video to move the calisthenics community forward. -Gabo
