It was true for me, overthinking about shoulder position and trying to initiate the move with depression made it harder, even caused me weird pain because I was thinking to pinch shoulder blades together or whatever, probably was elevating them instead and losing strength there. My blade bones are huge for some reason, not winging. Now I focus on driving the elbows down and back and maintaining strong grip, feels good. Thank you Mister Monster.

Chest to bar during pull-ups is a great target to aim to progress from basic chin above the bar pull-ups.

What do you think of the streetlifting style of pullup where you throw yourself forward at the top to close the rep (or even more extreme, like dima vlasov)?

@@fshiu it’s the method that allows you to lift the most weight. For the purpose of weighted pull-up competitions, it’s great!

i hate dead hanging completely at the bottom, can i just always do them with engaged scapulas, i mean, which deficiency would i get if I dont deadhang at the bottom while training for f. lever specifically?

@@rodolink_0 yes you can. You will just be weaker in the dead hang position and pulling from it. If you want, you can strengthen this position with scapular pull-ups separately.
