Dude! Freaking brilliant! Using the grip pads combined with pistons for the ultimate rover. Perfect. Lol at the end, I would have totally gone full monster truck and put obsolete rovers in a row to run over. 😁

proper rovers, seems you can climb every mountain and ford every stream. Without oil leaks and failing electrics. Heck, they're not bad at a monster truck freesty- ...and then the big one showed up. Well played.

Very cool. I love that pyramid stunt. The only thing I can't figure out is what part makes the spokes of the largest rover at the end of the video. I think they have writing on them? And there seem to be nine spokes per wheel which is also just weird.

You'll probably kick yourself but the spokes are made of heat shields.

1:22 I see you’ve taken the Clan Omnimech approach for this rover. Separate, detachable modules, quickly interchanged for maximum tactical flexibility on small timeframes without the need to completely rebuild the chassis or develop a separate variant. I commend your ingenuity.

Before I made a rover with custom wheels and SAS wheels to spin them. The wheels were made out of fairings allowing me to make them huge but seem to be unstable forgot why it's been so long.

Sweet! :D It's great to see a new cupcake landers video, and Yeah! Monster trucks! :D I made wheels out of grip pads like that, or rather 1 wheel; it was huge. I love it, there's so much grip! :D The flip side is I used a servo, so it's slow. Good idea to overlap them, it'll reduce the vibes. THe piston to lengthen the wheelbase is pretty cool too.

@NickBDesigns3 жыл бұрын
Inspirational as always Did you use ridged attachment on the pads to make them less “moving” when dealing with torque?
@CupcakesLanders3 жыл бұрын
I tried that but it made the rovers slower for no benefit that I could see.
@handy-capoutdoors40633 жыл бұрын
Dude, how have I never heard of you before? That is an awesome design! How are you doing the tires? Are they service modules or farings? I'm fairly sure the "rubber" is grip pads though. 🤔
@CupcakesLanders3 жыл бұрын
The tread is made up of grip pads. On the large rover the rims are made of heat shields. Hope this helps!

The piston is from Breaking Ground. The wheels are made of grip pads which might also be Breaking Ground parts. I assume they're driven by rotors, although I used a BG servo. (The servo is slow.)
