Archers! Notice how Mr.Phillips is lining up the point of his elbow with the point his arrow each time he draws. This prevents short drawing the bow. This encourages a conclusion of the shot sequence for a straight back release and promotes greater accuracy. Phillips is doing this almost subconsciously and seems to be only focused on the point of impact on the target. Now if I could actually do that! 😳🏹👍😁🙏🤣

Good job, Seems like the more thought I put into it the bigger my groups. Draw,aim,release..no secondary adjustments or thoughts, just shoot. I can shoot my bow better than I can throw a ball.

LOL yep a few weeks ago was out with my nephew, he was struggling a little and started getting frustrated. I brought him over and slowly demonstrated the shot cycle (which I don't usually go through in my head), I wasn't even really trying to hit the little tennis ball sized target (wasn't no way I could hit it that far away). BAM! nailed it from a decent distance, shocked both of us😂 But yeah everything felt perfect leading up to the shot, on my bad days I feel what leads to poor shooting is me getting aggravated with myself, and start putting to much focus on scoring and not letting my subconscious do what it needs to do.

Brilliant Vid Jeff…I once heard this ole saying about Archery in general… “ Archery is a moving Art of perfection, we can always strive to master it, but it may never be perfected “. I’ve always taken this craft at heart, not only in this, but in life in general. Bless you Brotha for sharing…love your channel 😇🙏🙏🏹🏹🏹👍

Well I shoot several different bows and run at least 10gpp , I stay on the lighter side for 3D and then run heavier for hunting setups, this bow is only 38# and the arrows are 700 spine Gold Tips weighing right at 370 which is good for my draw length of right at 27”

Do you shoot 3under again? Why? Whats your opinion on shooting 3under on a splitfinger tillered bow? Great videos! Best regards...
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Жыл бұрын
Yes sir, I actually shoot both depending on which bow but tiller doesn’t really matter as much for split but with 3under it’s a little more critical, I really enjoy 3under with lighter poundage bows just because it’s so easy to see more of the arrow at longer distances but less than 20 yards I actually love split it’s way more pure instinctive to me and a quiet shot 👍🏻

New to the trad sport, but not to archery. Question is this, I’ve seen you shoot three under and split finger. Do you have the same anchor for both? It seems like you would have a different anchor.

Actually it isn’t I just tend to raise my elbow a touch more with split but the adjustment is very slight for me.

Im a blend, i draw to anchor, check my alignment, so i am holding bout 2 or 3 seconds i guess,i do sight down arrow for left and right with my point on but thats mostly done as im drawing , hit full draw, then i just come straight down while my eyes stay on my spot, dont know how it happens i just "feel" the right elevation, stop and execute my release and follow thru, i set rule for myself in the beginning that i wouldt hunt my recurve til i could hold within a 2 inch spread left to right all way to my max i set at 20, strictly, spent a year and a million shots gettin there, what happened was the elevation just happened, i shoot split so my gap at 20 is like a foot and a half 😂, it dont matter cuzz i never look at arrow again, i can feel my peripheral taking notice of it though, but dont second guess the feeling, just trust the process, the way i see, if broadside animal, if you can hold a 2 inch spread left to right, if miss high , ya either spine them or no mans land and hes fine, if miss low the animal is either dead quick with a cut heart or gonna be fine, i just didnt want any wild left to right swings, made a 25 year streak with compound killin 5 or 6 deer every year without loosing 1, more proud of that than the bucks i brought home, didnt want to break that run even with recurve off the shelf, your videos helped me get where i was wanting to go, thanks brother, agree 💯, build that process, groove it in with a million shots and never deviate ! Practice every day to hold onto it, set your limits and live by them, ive let some nice bucks walk at 22 yards, no regrets. If he gets inside 20 and lets me get to anchor, hes coming for a ride in the truck 😎! Good luck to all

Do you see the string on that side picture or not? And if so where is it at?
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Жыл бұрын
No sir I don’t really ever see the string or at least don’t notice it, probably because the arrow nock is only a couple inches below my eye and my head is down on my release hand which is completely different than when I shot compound and could definitely see it but maybe it’s the canting that makes the difference 👍🏻

Hey Jeff... Just noticed, it looks like you went back to 3 under. Curious why?
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998
@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 Жыл бұрын
Thanks Erik, I am shooting three under for the most part, I actually do both depending on the bow it’s a very slight adjustment for me but I really enjoy three under with most of them especially lighter poundage bows 👍🏻

@@instinctiveaddictionarcher8998 I am in the same boat. I've noticed that my higher poundage bows don't really like 3 under. I think the tiller has a lot to do with it. Anyways, keep bringing the great content and God bless brother.
