At least your Government has the balls to make hard decisions. I live in Arizona ant it is an unmitigated disaster here. OUr GOvernor is a weak incompetent fool. Luckily My elderly parents are now vaccinated.

as always, i watch your videos twice. i notice the little things missed on the first go around. the sunset was spectacular. that one was a keeper for me. brother Ryan was quite proud with his 'catch' of the day. Elena, as is your style, your smile and genuine joy is magnetic. we the 'iron filings' of your channel are happy, attracted to what you are and hope. cheers

Lovely. Thank you!! Love you and your videos always. So real. I feel an uptick in the production value on this video. Is it music? Of course your photo / videography is stunning. Editing / sequencing is maybe what I notice most. Looks dreamy and I feel amazing watching. Thank you! We will see you somewhere in about 2 years in the future-on our yet unknown, but often dreamt about, sailboat. BTW, this is an amazing video for the marketing of the life aboard your beautiful sailboat. Good luck on the sale. Do you talk to Sailing Project Atticus? Congratulations and A+!!!

Hi Ryan and lovely Elena, please could you tell me the make and model of your sextant, and if possible the source and cost? There seem to be so many of the Indian-made copies that I understand are great for display but not for actual use. I'm keen to start using one as soon as possible in preparation for some blue water voyages I plan in the future. Do you still use it or did it lose its appeal? Thank you, Mike, UK.

In Carriacou the sounding of the conch means the fisherman have fish to sell on the shore.
@SailingKittiwake
@SailingKittiwake 4 жыл бұрын
That's in most places, during the day (early morning or early afternoon usually), but the cruisers' net in Carriacou invites everyone to blow a conch at the end the day to celebrate sunset with a conch blowing feast :) Every boat with a conch on board joins in. You can't hear them in the video, as the wind generators and generators are too loud, unfortunately. It goes on for ages haha! Five minutes of conch sounds coming from all around you. Blowing the conch at sunset is a tradition for cruisers all over the Caribbean.

What do you do for insurance sailing during the hurricane season?
@SailingKittiwake
@SailingKittiwake 4 жыл бұрын
We have full insurance year-round (but not against named storms, unless you are in the ABCs) so we also have third party with a different insurance, which covers third party damage during a named storm. This is all we could do, as the boat is too old and cheap to get full insurance during a named storm. We gathered so many quotes, but no one would offer full cover in hurricane season, even for an outrageous amount. If the boat sinks in a named storm, we only have third party cover 😐

FYI first line of the description says "This video was filmed in August 2020", this is one of the few sailing channels that actually bothers to tell us when their videos were filmed so 👍🏼to Sailing Kittiwake for that.

As beautiful as all this is, there is a cloud of gloom hanging over the whole video. The putting of Kittiwake up for sale does not bode well for this couple I'm afraid.
