Hi, I would have said ourselves but we no longer breed them now. I know KBN reptiles in Coventry breed them every year.

I have two questions, I just bout mine a week ago. I used moss instead and I’m gonna damp it once a week, should I get the soil instead? Also he’s stays in my bedroom which throughout all day temps are around high 70s to low 80s, at night however I turn my ac on to temperatures of 64 degrees. He does have a heating pad, my question is do you think that is habitable for him?

I have two thermostats one is low of cage the other high. The lower one reads between 65 to 75 throughout the day. The highest reads from 65 to 85 throughout the day

Hi Jojo, I would recommend using soil, it keeps the humidity around 80% to 90% (keep it moist) which is perfect for the thai bamboo. You might find using just moss that your humidity will be around 99% - 100% which could lead to repository problems. You don't need to use a heat mat with the thai bamboos ratsnakes, as long as they have an ambient air temp ranging from 21 to 26, they'll be fine.

Do they absolutely need a heat pad?

They need a temperature from around 22C so if you could provide a room temperature of this then you could possibly get away without one however we recommend having one so that you can have Lower and warmer side to the environment hope this helps TSS TEAM :)
