IT IS BEYOND ME.. how we can have 100MP tiny phone cameras that take DLSR quality level photos and videos and still can't get a good webcame in 2023 ~_~
@annekedebruyn779721 күн бұрын
There reason is complex image processing. Your phone camera looks worse than a webcam without it. The issue is that we don't want our webcam to be a burden on our computer and that NPU in processors are just becoming a thing now to do such processing in real time in a way that won't tank your computer performance. If we take the high end webcams from today and would feed them through the processing Android or Apple does, it would look absolutely mindblowing.

Here's the thing, and you almost touched on this - you can buy an actual mirrorless camera which is relatively easy to use as a webcam and have the added benefit of being able to actually use it as a camera for the same price which will have MUCH better quality, especially with a cheap c-mount lens - for creamy, lush background bokeh and crisp focus as well as better framerates. If this cam was 150 bucks it might be worth it, but for $300 bucks it's too close to make any sense at all unless you're just lazy. I'd imagine anyone trying to achieve very high quality camera stream results would consider it worthwhile, even if it requires a bit more set-up and preparation.

I bought the Razer Kiyo Pro (not Ultra) more than a year ago. It maxes out at 1080p and 60 fps and looks simply GREAT! By far the best webcam I have ever seen or used. Of course your 4k version will provide really wonderful picture quality, but believe me the Kiyo Pro is only maybe 5% behind--and it is a ton less money! I got mine for around $200 Canadian, and I think there are more used ones out there for easy purchase and less coin of the realm. Thanks for the review! These are simply amazing webcams! And I _always_ tell people to just set their webcam on manual focus if they are doing reviews or reports from their desktop. It doesn't matter which webcam you are using, I can always see them hunting for a face or following a hand, which simply does not cut it. Auto settings for everything else but focus seems to work the best. Just manually focus it on your face as you are comfortable in your chair and you are off to the races! 👌😎👍

@@andiders everything I use is Razor so fitting into that ecosystem is a big bonus. The sensor is straight up better on the kiyo ultra, and you can get raw footage at 4k and 1440p while the facecam pro only does 1080p raw. That's a minor difference to some creators, but night and day for others. Simply streaming? Sure, facecam. Any other video editing work, and the Kiyo takes it 100%.
@andiders Жыл бұрын
@@StabbyMcStabStab After watching several comparisons and reviews, it seems you're wrong. The faceCam Pro does 4K 60 raw. They have the same size sensor, but Kiyo has worse optics. Or less optics I guess. Kiyos 4K30 has better low light performance than FaceCams 4K60, but lowering to 4K30 on the facecam and it beats the Kiyo thanks to lower shutter speed. Kiyo also struggles with Razers biggest issue. Synapse. Which is still poorly optimized.

@@andiders slightly bigger sensor, slightly bigger aperture, and ACTUAL uncompressed recording, whereas the facecam does not (check it up, I double checked). Just be aware that the software is still horrendous. Literally if you do a fresh install of Synapse and change the zoom without any other settings it crashes the app. It completely becomes unresponsive. Also Razor support sucks. I have this webcam. Was moving a couple of things and took the webcam with its mount off the bracket except it broke on the first twist. I contacted Razor support and they said it was my fault and said I should invest in Razor care next time. They also then pointed me to remember to subscribe to their newsletter to save 10 percent on my next purchase. What type of idiotic PR crap is that. Hey we don't honor our warranties unless you pay for an extra service, oh and it is because we just say its your fault. Oh by the way subscribe so you can save on your next purchase with us. This is a $300 webcam. Not some cheapy. Looing online it looks like their support has become garbage over the last year or so. Even more so than it ever was. I guess I should of learned from my two Deathadders that died, my ten keyless keyboard from Razor that the switches developed double presses so bad it was unusable, the LED headphone stand with USB that got so bad right at the 13 month mark that it crashed Windows every few minutes or forced a reboot, I should of learned that their support isn't just bad so are their products most of the time. Not only that the Viper wireless and Orochi V2 wireless along with every wireless device they have made are ridiculous when it comes to connecting to your computer. One port might work then stop working with connection. The Viper worked for a few months fine then all of a sudden no ports on the back of my computer worked. Then I tried a front port which in most cases would never work for something like this and it is the only port I can use my Viper wireless on now. Razor is a joke. People need to stop recommending them. Regardless if their product is good for a month of testing. It sucks long term and their support sucks and doesn't honor warranties.
