I saw an old black and white US military film on KZbin several years ago here, but have not been able to relocate it. It was all about surviving in the winter boreal environment with minimal equipment, such as one might be faced with in the event of an airplane crash. The film was unforgettable. The principles and shelter design were unique and I have seen only one other demonstration of such here, built in Britain in a Sitka spruce plantation. Essentially, two very steeply pitched lean-tos facing each other closely, with a long fire close between them, and sleeping platforms elevated to such a height as to be perfect for making the best use out of heat radiating yp from the fire. The film asserted that with such a shelter, one could survive the boreal winter (for a time at least, until rescue) highly clothed. Do you know of such a shelter, Adam? Can you demonstrate one? This build has elements of it, but not the close proximity of the raised beds to the (long) fire.

Yes indeed, I've built those ones before but never on camera. Right now I'm having a break from KZbin, I'm back at full time work in the armed forces and I work at a civilian survival school as well. I don't know when my next video will be uploaded but I'll keep that in mind for the future 👍

My wife also supports me in the construction of my log cabin. But now it is winter and she is afraid of frost.

That's great, quality time with the wife in the woods is great 👍😁 Hehe, well mine doesn't really like the cold either but she is used to it .

Awesome. Looking great. How is married life treating you? You look like a great couple. 😃
@TSMAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Married life is treating me well, Emma is a great wife, to say the least. And with Freja around, we have our hands full. However, we will adopt another dog, a border collie this time. He's one month older than Freja and has the same amount of energy. It's a shelter dog from Ireland and his name will be Blue and we will go and get him on Saturday :) So I will have even more company in the woods on my future trips. How are you? :)
