You did very well with English. I have been playing golf for almost 17 years, and this video was the very first time I have ever heard the concept of allowing your wrist joint to be so relaxed that you can feel it stretch as the club moves back and through. Brilliant! I cannot wait for my next practice so I can try to feel this. Thank you very much.

@@thefrenchgolfcoach9567 Yes, thanks. I look forward to new videos. This instruction absolutely helped. I strike the ball much cleaner by feeling the stretch. It is like there is no slack in my arms and wrists in the backswing and transition. I find it to give me more control of my low point. I hope you continue to introduce more novel concepts, as opposed to traditional/conventional drills and ideas. Thanks.

Your english is very good and In my opinion your slightly altered wording actually might help to clarify concepts more than perfect english but using standard cliches that don't mean much by themselves. I feel meaningless industry jargon is a problem which impedes meaning. Much better that you try to find the words conciously, and in doing so transmit something very useful. It's a strength for you! Thanks for the information!

I was on the range today and noticed this exact thing. I started playing around with my swing and stopped thinking about swing thoughts, face or path and just started swinging relaxed and with the flow of the club and it‘s weight. Weirdly I started hitting it way better and with effortless power! I thought I was going crazy but seeing your video gave me a good idea of the concept 🙏

great video I started to whip the club myself within the last 2 months. prior to this I was a over the top swing with my arms type guy that sometimes hit the ball but most of the time hit it fat. I had a horrible grip on the club and was also squeezing the club. I had a new set of irons fitted my first fitted set ever and decided to take a lesson. The Pro spotted my main problems fast tight grip and incorrect grip. My new clubs are heavier than anything I have ever used in the past and it is fantastic. With my new grip I am able to really whip them from the bottom and can now hit a 5 iron 180 yards!

Terrific video with a very simple, sensible and understandable approach! Great teaching! If some other pros adopted the same approach, they would perhaps have more success with students! Can you possibly confirm please what sort of clubhead speed/distances is/are being generated by you/ your students using your method English is very charming! As you wanted feedback-I suppose you could use “open/closed” or “extended” (wrists) a bit more-but all very clear thanks PS If wrists are loose, how tightly should the hands hold /grip the club ? Excellent truth told here- took me many years to learn on my own and never once was the concept ever taught to me or explained. It's all about gaining speed through physics- left arm fully extended to near end of finish- wrists loose - whip through impact - target is bottom point. Takes practice to train yourself to have a firm grip (especially last three fingers of forward hand) and still- at the same time have very limber wrists- maybe 2-3 weeks before you will do both simultaneously. HUGE DIFFERENCE- GREAT POWER- NO BACK ACHES.

I just discovered that i can hit my 7-iron a 150 m carry with very loose wrists. I always avoided loose wrists, because i thought it was flipping the hands. Can you explain me the difference?
@thefrenchgolfcoach9567
@thefrenchgolfcoach9567 Жыл бұрын
Thank you :) Sure, the flip hand occurs when you improperly use your wrist resulting in an open or closed face on the takeaway. This is an example of reaping what you sow since flipping the wrist on the follow through causes this problem. Early release results in a closed face and late release usually results in a slice. The window for a proper release is narrow, which is why you need to control your wrist to keep the club face square for as long as possible in the impact zone. With loose wrists, you will generally play the same way most of the time, which is a good start for consistency. Additionally, loose wrists are less likely to be manipulated during the takeaway, which helps keep the club face square throughout the entire swing. Releasing early or late will only affect the height of the ball, not the direction.

Greetings from Québec. You can't say make the space between the forearm and the wrist bigger. You should say longer. When the club face is pointing to the left on impact, the ball will draw / hook to the left. If the club face is pointing to the right at impact, the ball will fade /slice to the right if you're a right handed player. Of course if you're a left handed player, it will be the opposite. Your left will fade / slice and your right will draw / hook. You forgot to mention that. Just saying. You can also say visualize / picture this and that, etc...Good luck / bonne chance.

At 2:30 when you hang your wrists to show that the grip is too strong..... Is this the condition you want the wrists to be in during the swing? You say make the space bigger. Is that hanging condition what you mean? I played yesterday and did let my hands hang and I felt my shots were very solid and accurate. It also improved my takeaway to turn my body with my hands hanging and following behind. Thanks

2:30 I realize it has been 2 years since you posted this video and all of the others (my favorite is Argentina), but when you say “make the wrists longer” do you mean at impact they should be in the lose hanging condition as at 2:30 - 2:38 in this video? This is a very good video. I have a strange problem... I have a neutral grip with all my woods (avg. 267 off the tee with driver, 235 off the tee with 3w (225 no tee), etc. Driver swing speed is roughly 103 - 104 average. Based on this alone, I should be hitting my irons further than I do. But with my irons I have a stronger grip, and I think it's introducing lots of tension in my swing. This is one of the few videos I've seen on loose wrists/whipping/etc that actually use an iron in the video. It's always a driver. I have full confidence with my woods, and there's no tension with the grip. I don't think about anything other than my tempo. With irons, I have too many swing thoughts and tension. Perhaps I should grip my irons like my woods, and swing carefree!

Your English is tres bien Reno. Much better than my French. I noticed you taught a grip that is appropriate for a swing where the hands and clubhead arrive at the ball at the same time, which is what you demonstrated. Many are taught to get their hands slightly ahead of the ball at impact. The point is your grip needs to match your impact position, which may be different than the setup. If you are one whose hands beat the clubhead to the ball, you will need a stronger or more closed clubface when straight out in front of you as hands ahead will open the clubface some.
