A most excellent show. Growing up next to the "Iron Curtain" we knew of persecuted Christians and heard some of the horror stories of their endurance. Precious few Americans can even begin to understand. Thanks again for everything. Pax

Powerful! This episode should be offered for viewing at all churches. Lest we forget the price Jesus paid for our souls, and the persecuted hidden Christians continue to suffer and die for.

Dr. Anthony E. Clark is an expert on the Catholic Church in China. Steven W. Mosher would be another good one.

The Dutch prosecuted the Catholics in Sri Lanka during the 17th century. 40 years later, Fr. Joseph Vaz, a Goan(Indian) priest, arrived secretly and revived the faith. His impact was so great that despite the Dutch prosecution, and then the British favouring Anglican and Methodist denominations (total control of 300 years), the Catholic faith forms nearly 90% of the Christians. All due to this one priest, who was elevated as St. Joseph Vaz, by Pope John Paul. Praise the Lord!

When you mentioned how the photo of the execution of Father Miguel Pro backfired on the executioners, because instead of frightening people off, it became a powerful rallying symbol.... I was straining to hear you follow it up with a mention of the 21 Coptic Martyrs of Libya in 2015. The grisly video of their execution, and especially the photos of their serene faces looking up at the sky, have become just as strong an inspiration to Christians worldwide. The best is that the families of the martyrs - and many of us devotees - take the photos also as a reminder to pray for the executioners, that they may repent and convert. (I hope that you did not leave them out because they were not Catholic. Remember that the Pope has added them to the Catholic martyrology, that's the equivalent of canonizing them.)

I love this episode on the persecuted Christians! I like Fr. Miguel Pro's fun character! The concept of hidden cardinals amazed me! That one pope would hide half his cardinals ahead of chaos? And his successor (Bishop Mastai-Ferreti) among those hidden? So the incorrupt peacekeeper Bl. Pius IX during the unification of Italy was a hidden cardinal? Wow!! Then he succeed Simon Peter, and then became confined in Rome during the unification, keeping the peace amid chaos. Hidden faith inspires and interests me!!

Please pray for my nephew Dan H. He has carried his cross of MS, from a young man. His wife found him on the floor, unresponsive. He is now 60. I have prayed for his return to the Church. I pray he comes to and there is still a chance for his return. God Bless each one of you.

The Church in France went underground during the French Revolution. That was some deadly anti-Catholic discrimination there, leading to a widespread loss of the faith. The Church became subordinate to the French government, much like it is in China today. But probably the greatest Phoenix to rise from those ashes was a young St. John Vianney receiving his vocation to the priesthood spending his adult life helping to repair that damage.

So I’m just starting this… hoping you’ll address that the Mass closest to the Catacombs is being persecuted from within. Will likely be forced back into the Catacombs by her own Church. As far as I know, this will be the first persecution of 1800 years of tradition committed by our own Church.

The local parish prays for His Holiness and the Catholic Church during Mass. But still, I’m a bit ashamed for not being underground. I know if Christ calls I must follow Him no matter the cost, but the stakes are just too terribly high…

Question for Father: How did the Japanese validly marry without a priest? Trent made it clear, for canonical form, for there to be a priest with faculties to witness marriages present. If this is the case how did they marry?

Just remember this, dear Roman Catholics: The rosary contains this line: *Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope* Jesus alone is King - there is no "queen" in heaven. God is our life - Deut 30:20 Jesus is our life Colossians 3:4 Psalm 62 - God is our hope. Mary is deified in this line - anyone praying it is committing idolatry

God Bess you gentlemen. I've noticed a trend in our society that Christ may not approve of which is a lot more to do with the evangelist. I expected to hear of modern day hidden ✝️ Christians. Instead it feels like jeopardy and glorifying each other instead of My Savior. Humble yourself and you will be exalted, exalt yourself self not letting anybody else speak and you will eventually be humbled, plus it causes anxiety sorry for busting your bubble He relayed this message to me blame Him
