I’ve heard this one many times but it’s still interesting. What an annoying dm

Story 2. I had to go back and re-listen to some of this. And to me it is obvious the DM has never been on a ship or ocean going boat of any size, which is how many Spelljammers are designed. And a complete lack of knowledge physics. For starters the bow of the ships in Spelljammer are normally narrow, small places with many raised by a forecastle or have a forcastle between them and midship position. Even lacking that though, the fact that OP moved 30 feet away from the ship and pulled the creature from there means that the creature would move in an arc if nothing else with OP's position as the center point of that circle. As many ships are narrow (in which a character or creature can stand on them) that creature could not have been pulled directly "South" of it's starting position and should not have ended up on the deck midship. I would accept hanging on from the railing of the deck or caught up in the rigging (lots of ropes to hold the sails in place all over the ship). But not just right in the middle of the other party members with no ill effect of that harsh movement whatsoever. And yes, I was in the USNavy if anyone is wondering.

How big of a sword we're talking about? Zweihanders are huge swords and can stand high and reach shoulders

I can understand the sentiment with viewing a giant sword as being impractical and expensive. a giant buster sword would weigh 30-40 lbs at least, and the amount of iron needed to smelt, forge, and be hammered into place would likely be enough for 12-18 longswords. then there's impracticality of using something so heavy. it'd be impossible to balance much less swing, and if you could carry it you might be better off throwing boulders or pulling a ballista around as your weapon. There's also an element of cringe as giant anime swords are a hallmark of weeby edgelords. That being said, one of my favorite weapons in D&D is the Executioner's Blade from 3.5. It has built in requirements that need to be met or you suffer massive penalties. Another example is the Elephant sword from Mongoose Publishing's Quintessential Barbarian. Both require you to have a strength of at least 14 [x blade] or 16 [elephant blade] and require you to be both proficient in martial weapons and take an exotic weapon's prof. feat just to use them properly. You gotta commit to them, and the average person is going to take a -12 to hit if they try to use it.
