I think the mom in story 3 will be someone that always talks about her grandkids but never gets a chance to see them.

Story 3. Never heard that one before. I could FEEL the embarrassment of the little brother thru space and time.

Story 2. Yet another case of Lawful Stupid Paladin I believe. I've heard this one a few times. Being anti-tiefling does fit with the lore. But this goes beyond just that. I am positive that this player would have found something else to focus on to get their rocks off about killing sooner or later.

Story 5. That sounds like my Navy days. Up for a couple of days at a time working to fix this or that (that some one else broke, I was in Engineering, we fixed what other broke regularly) that the ship needed back again. Then filling up on that magic potion of "Cup of Ambition" most other call coffee. Then going off to play a game that is happening right then before crawling into my rack for 30 minutes of sleep. And starting it all over again. I don't know how big the coffee pot was in the Assault Shop, but it was big and I do remember the number 70 cup pot being used some. What I do know is we would make coffee in that pot about 3 to 5 times a day for about 25 of us. Coffee IS Life in the military. It was said many times we could loose every last piece of equipment on that ship and be dead in the water, it would be alright. BUT if the Chief Engineer's coffee pot didn't work, we were all dead men.

Yeah. Story 1 I've heard before and it is a BIG let down. This DM fell face first into the DMPC trap. And probably willingly. A better way to have handled it and still made the PC's more indebted to the DMPC would have been for the DMPC to have scryed the fortress and seen that their plan would have failed. Doesn't matter what the plan actually was, just that it would have failed. And this can be done subtly by having the PC's outline their plan, then have the DMPC state that "NO! The BBEG is expecting that! I have seen his preparations and defenses. And he has " then insert some magical alarm or secret trap or extra guards or whatever that would foil that plan. Then have the DMPC state that "If only we had the " insert magic item or component here "I could finish crafting a " insert item or potion here" that would allow you to enter undetected." or "allow you to escape without them being able to block you." The PC's of course will ask why the DMPC can't do that. And the DMPC then states that they can, but must make all the preparations and get the item/ component. The PC's can then go get the component/ item and return with it. This throws a time crunch into the mix as well as allow the PC's to do the important work while the DMPC does the behind the scenes work. And once the item or potion is done the DMPC can't go on the mission itself as "I am to fatigued from having to rush this " item/ potion "done to go with you. So be careful, I have told you all I have seen of the fortress; but there may still be secrets I did not see in my short time of scrying the fortress. Good luck." Then let the PC's do the rescue. With the DMPC's information being mostly right, but a few things different or some new things thrown in to spice it up.

That story about the Paladin not wanting to be healed by the Cleric... I was having flashes of this one episode of the TV show M*A*S*H... a racist officer was in need of surgery and Hawkeye wanted to tech him a lesson. So after the surgery the doctors used something that gave him darker skin and appear black claiming he must have gotten the non-white people's blood (yeah, black face is bad, but the takes place in the 1950s and was extremely progressive for the 1980s... plus, in story, it worked).

Story 4. This one has been making the rounds lately. And I still think this could be just a mistaken identity thing. Some one, who was not a regular at the store, probably did hear something and assumed it was OP. Then made a complaint about OP thinking that it was OP. But as they weren't a regular, they weren't there the next time OP was and so no tell tale sign of who did it. A similar situation happened to me years ago but took months to clear up. And most likely the store owner has cleared this up already by responding to the complaint that OP wasn't even in the store at the time of the incident. And even if it is some one trying to mess with OP, the store owner now knows that is what's going on, so it will be harder to do, and probably who is behind it as well. Either way OP should reach out to the store owner and see what they have to say about all of it and if the store owner thinks it was just a mistake or if it is a threat.

1st - DM: My wizard will solve ALL backstories so the campaign can focus in MY wizard glorious journey. 2.- How shitty DM, need to ear cleric cry to act AT LAST. I bet DM could not kick that asshole if Cleric don't cry.

Story 2: The DM was telling them to knock it off the whole time. They just did something big when they were basically told to sod off when they put their foot down on the no pvp.
